  1. Devers has no clue as to a strike to hit. 3 failed swings at high out of zone pitches. He sucks this year
  2. f***ing nibbling lead off walk scores on a beni-type bouncer, so now the Sox are losing. Devers, JDM, X in the bottom 8th to pull it out
  3. peraza always jumping the first pitch, not much results lately. is Pedey feeling stronger ?
  4. JBJr, streaks like a naked fan, but won't be in Boston next year and may find it hard to get a multi-year $10million deal somewhere
  5. Cannot let the reliever get past 20-25 pitches. They are toast . Now Hembree is done for a couple days.
  6. Pillar is saving them tonight . Hembree may be getting used up on back to back nights
  7. Defense is saving the Sox tonight. Valdez very lucky to get off the mound unblemished.
  8. Feels like we should be winning about 4-0, but it's really 1-0 and one big fly will sink Valdez and the Sox because nobody is hitting
  9. Godley is getting away with some crap tonight due to good fielding behind him and Toronto baserunning idiocy by Tellez. But Godley's motion doesn't bode well for a long run after this short season. Godley should buy a lottery ticket tonight
  10. Beni still slumping, going below .060 now. Easy bounce DP to 2Bman with 2 on and no outs.
  11. Big inning brewing with Vaz and Beni next 2 up. Let's see, hope no DP and K
  12. It's not Beni, it's the leadoff spot that creates K's. The pitcher is fresh and feeling good, so down goes the leadoff hitter. And so does Ryan Weber head off into the sunset
  13. Shaw has a better OPS than JDM, Devers and Beni. Still he is a K victim of unGodley
  14. Godley has a habit that reminds me of Matt Barnes. A severe pull away to his left side , leaving the pitching arm releasing the ball high and wide, then looking down at his feet as if they were the culprit. Where do these guys come from ?
  15. Maybe it's not too early to try and build the 2021 version of the RedSox. The holes in the boat are large (starting and relief pitching) including is JDM part of it, can Beni recover from his funk, can Dever's gain some consistency, does Bloom look to sign Verdugo to a multi-year , where is Chavis, do the take the $3M option on Moreland ? Aside from Bogaerts and Vazquez very few positions are clearly defined going forward. Can Erod and Sale both fully recover ? Will Pedey earn his final contract year of $12 million (OK bad joke) ? Peraza would want $3M+. When you need 4 or 5 starting pitchers to enter camp, and 3 or 4 reliable relievers to fill late innings , this off season will be interesting but probably not highly rewarding. Covid will still be a factor throughout 2021 throwing a wet blanket over it all again.
  16. Exactly what is it that anyone would trade Eovaldi for ? If this team expects to be ready for a full 162 game season in 2021 (far from a given) then they will need 6 or more capable starters. Sale may be a welcome return by next July/August, or not. ERod is no given depending on his recovery from his heart condition. No one else on the current team can even be pencilied in. Maybe Perez is a #5 or 6. Eo is at least one plug-in, so why move him / His arm health in the past is not a great recommendation for durability but as RR says, "Who else can I run out there?"
  17. Beni has gone from disappointing to pathetic with another 3K's in 4 ABs. He does walk a bit , however, that won't keep you in MLB. I seriously wonder if they should give him a full physical , including eye sight to determine if any factor is limiting his ability to swing the bat. Benintendi is becoming the next lost cause in a series of flameouts . If the answer is to keep playing him until he turns it around, try the #8 slot for awhile. Leading off, are you kidding ? The problem is not just a small sample of 2020 odd-ball, but was evident in 2019 as well, sort of a creeping crud, much like Matthew Barnes. But he won't be going anywhere, so LF is his as his current deal runs through 2021 at a little over $6 million
  18. Imagine if you will a world where the RedSox have a 2 game winning streak, where Ryan Weber was the starter and gave up a HR to the first hitter, and where the top of the lineup ( Beni, Rafi, JDM)was a combined 0-12 with 8 K's ? It shows that in the Fenway twilight zone, anything is possible. These 3 guys are hitting .468 when their BA's are added together. OPS of 1.618, or .539 average. Exactly 1 HR and 6 rbi's among them.
  19. How the heck can JBJr frequently hit his left side bouncing ball right at the only fielder over there ?
