  1. The hitting is definitely picking up , with only 3 regulars still below the .200 line. The other 3 questionnables are up to .204; .212 and .214 of the 6, the highest OPS is the .583 of Verdugo, followed closely by Story's .579, and he just got a hit.
  2. Pivetta seems to have zeroed in somewhat after that terrible start to the year.
  3. So now Taylor joins Sale and understandably Paxton on the 60 day list . Pitching sure jerks a body around. Just ask Chris .
  4. Dugo actually sucks in new ways daily too
  5. Vaz showed his skill level. He had one job, move Franchy to 3rd. Pops out to 2nd. Truly wonder what some of these guys are thinking or NOT
  6. No Trevor is toast mentally at this point.
  7. There are 3 possible outcomes, lose by 1 , once again, tie and go to Manfred Man in the tenth, or pull it out their assess with 2 runs---pretty low odds
  8. Sox are closing in shortly on 20% of the season being in the books. The starting pitchers have been good lately but the reality is that the rotation is still a mess with now Wacha, Paxton and Sale totally unpredictable. The BP needs little rationalization. It is not good , and predictable roles not yet defined. The hitting is weak ( no power), and untimely, a deadly combination. Lowest walks in MLB ? Highest swing rate? Totally undisciplined. Story will have to hide in a dark place to survive Boston's fans. So yes , they could completely blow 2022 and end up losing Eovaldi, Vazquez, Bogaerts , Kike, and JDM . Maaybe that is Dr. Bloom's cure. We just didn't know we were sick until Game 5ALCS in 2022
  9. Soreness in his side after a side session Thursday. He may have a history of lat injury; left intercostal to be precise. Now he's been moved to the 15 day IL, so we get Danish back
  10. While the team is slightly deficient in actual run production, we may be leading in LOB's so that's worth something, right? Apparently Story said something about the Sox cumulatively maybe trying to do a little too much. No, Trevor, you should try doing something, anything productive.
  11. Trevor Story is going to have a miserable experience in Boston, becoming a target for fan frustration. Dalbec won't be around long enough to be the boo target , while Story covers for him.
  12. Except Wacha's hurting a bit, so we'll see Houck pitch for 2-3 innings. Hill on Covid list, Paxton has a sore elbow, and Sale is decomposing. Have a nice day, mothers
  13. I missed the last 6 innings , but know the result now. I was going to trash Barnes once again just because it feels good, but there were multiple opportunities when Devers, Bogaerts and JDM were in position to make a difference and they sucked very much too. I am beginning to truly believe that Bloom and ownership have sucked the life out of this bunch and yet will benefit with another high draft choice, although what they deserve is condemnation for the worst in the AL. This is truly bad and I'm happy that some will lose their jobs before this year is out. If they performed like this in my job, they would be gone by now.
  14. My next astonishment came from reading that Chris "Frail" Sale's recovery and return to the mound is now delayed a few weeks due to a"personal medical issue" . This walking medical disaster is way beyond his expiration date. He will be the newest dead money contract for the Sox. I cannot be enthused thinking about this straw in the wind.
  15. Does anyone think that bringing in Bogaerts' replacement while X was still ostensibly negotiating an extension sent the most negative possible message to this team , leading to a truly uninspired season ? It should not affect the individual AB's plaguing this team but they have seem uninspired since day 1
  16. And honestly looks clueless in doing so at bat
  17. Story should argue his way out of the game, just to break up the monotony of losing
  18. 3 more walks or HBP will in fact give us a run
  19. Devers, Bogey, JDM coming up, followed by Dugo. Runs will flow
  20. i was watching Dalbec "work" his 10 pitch walk in the 2nd. He fouled off 3 true center cut pitches, another at the top of the zone, 2 out of the zone before finally getting to ball 4, on what actually was the 6th ball out of the strike zone. Good that he walked, JBJr couldn't help, but overall pitch recognition and swing selection is what helps the opposing pitcher and is a major characteristic of this prolonged slump and general losing record. It may actually be a failure by Cora/Fatse to have an organized game plan for hitting by this bunch.
  21. Dalbec is last chance at starting an 8 run rally to win this tight game.
  22. Angels have now scored 16 runs in two games, all after 10 innings of 1 and 2 hit (2 runs) starting pitching . There was some early success by this bullpen but that was only because the hitters had such a short ST.
  23. Seriously, what business does Kutie Crawford have pitching for a big market, used -to-be contender ?
  24. Devers pops up, Bogey pops up, JDM K's again. Move along, folks, nothing to see here
