  1. It's OK though. We need to catch the Rays before the Yankees. Jays are in the way too, and they get the Angels today and next two, after beating Ohtani last night
  2. If you heard that via the Apple TV, don't bite on it. It would be great to pick up another pitcher who can hit though
  3. And she blew the call on Dugo's double by failing to notice it bounced into the stand behind the bullpen, not realizing only 2 runs could score. She repeated 3 runs or bases clearing a couple times until the overpowered analyst kicked her under the table
  4. Listened to one inning of whoever the motormouth on Apple is and thought i had tuned into the national women's soccer team. Non stop yak-yak-yak, as if we can't see the TV.
  5. Beginni8ng to smell the looming proximity of a .500 record. get tonight and then try again tomorrow. Could be a good weekend, although the O's fooled with the Yanks a little, so it's not a walkover.
  6. Certainly Bogaerts is a success of the system . It would be interesting to ask guys like Chavis and Benintendi what has led them to get on track or back to their potential . Is it just some maturity or playing in a lower expectation market that allowed them to breath easier and relax. JBJr could address what he thought happened in 2021 to him, and now how it feels back in Boston. He did get paid (like homegrown Barnes) but isn't a start level player. His longevity certifies his status as a MLB caliber player. Betts would have been a star almost anywhere but he has had some inconsistencies in LA , getting hot once again though. Rizzo and Moncada could both be steady Eddies at Fenway but led to other players coming in and titles won, so who knows.
  7. The implication is that the Red Sox system and coaching at the MiLB levels may be suspect in their development of young players . Perhaps one of Bloom's less noticeable efforts might be to better the minor league development process , in addition to stocking and retaining better prospects. We have often questioned why the Sox have failed to develop young pitchers into rotation regulars over a large number of years. The same may be true of position players . Drafting choices and draft position also affects outcomes. On the current team , Devers and Vazquez are the only regular position players developed internally. Devers is a generational talent, Vaz is a steady if not great contributor .
  8. Would it occur to anyone that Casas is being developed by the same minor league system that most recently gave us Chavis and Dalbec in a similar role? I assume Devers did not listen to his coaching.
  9. Seriuosly with respect to matt Barnes. He is taking up a slot in a bullpen which will get taxed over the next week . What do you do with him while trying to figure something out?
  10. Vazquez is my vote for a really fun player
  11. If you watched that body language from him sitting on the bench, that is someone who is in serious panic/anxiety . I'm not joking when saying he needs a mental illness IL break.
  12. Surprised any hitter would even stand in against him for fear of getting whacked
  13. Is there an IL category for guys like Barnes? He is now officially and fully baked. He needs an extended break from baseball
  14. f***wit Barnes proves why he is totally incoherent on the mound. It is his awful , inconsistent mechanics. I am sure he has been shown and talked to about this 100 times. But the idiot cannot adapt. The guys in the field must hate him. This is a mental/physical problem beyond anything experienced by Bard
  15. Check the thread. Ray has been lauded
  16. Yes, I will give him the defensive credit he's due. I think we have a couple defensive specialists.
  17. sheer enjoyment coming. My man UCONN's Matt Barnes witha 9 run lead. I wish him well and much success.
  18. Kike may be good at getting the first pitch out of the park, but that's about his limit lately. i guess you could make a living doing that.
  19. We scored 31 runs in almost 3 games and will only win 2 of them. That's funny, joe Pesci
  20. I have a feeling that Dalbec will get the benefit of the upcoming homestand to see if he can do anything, but by Friday June 3, he is sent down to Pawsox. Trouble is they are unlikely to confuse Casas at this stage , so BD will be DH'ing there . Ironic that LaRussa brings in a LH to face BD and he answers with a hit and RBI
  21. I don't know th the recent stats on Bogey, but I suspect down somewhat, however, Dugo is trying to make up for several weeks of slop in one night.
  22. With due respect to the now late Ray Liotta, in his scene with Pesci , " Do you think I'm funny? Funny like a clown?"
  23. The couple sitting to the left of home plate --The older guy is clearly an heir (very rich) to the Mars family candy fortune and his niece in the yellow tube top looks like my grapefruit tree.
  24. Hard to knock Hill at his age stil pitching. The fact that he's out there isn't his fault. Sale can't get ready quick enough and then you still don't know what you have. Wacha is another reclaim project. Over a full season he's a fill-in at best. Whitlock---is he a starter or not ? Who knows what the pitching roles are here. Paxson--He could actually get p[aid for the whole season and never throw a pitch in competition, then has an option to get paid next year.
  25. Angels DFA'ed Mike Myers today after another weak relief outing. Watch out if Chaim gets an itchy finger.
