    2 outs, no one on and you walk the hitter, then it turns into a run. Bunch of 2 out pitchers, but no shutdowns. Then another 2 out walk, Sawnuts goes over 20 pitches and all hell may break loose now

    That was the situation where JDM used to launch a 3 run HR or at least a scoring double. What a weak bouncer, almost doubled up.

    Enjoyed Jahmai's report on the wild 72 pitch, 5 walk, 3 hit, 8 out effort by Sale. When he does come back to the rotation he will need a couple starts to get up to 6 inning potential. Eckersley didn't like it either

    We may be underestimating the rotation problems with Wacha, Eovaldi, Whitlock plus Sale and Paxton's long recoveries . Pivetta blowing up didn't help last night . Could not be in a worse set up schedule wise. Then the hitters go quiet and Devers has lower body soreness as they say in hockey

    Sox couldn't score with runners on 2nd/3rd , no outs once again. Let's see what the Rays do with 1st/3rd, no outs. Bet it's not nothing

    That 0-2 pitch to Diaz may be the worst 0-2 I have seen in a while. Lucky it did not go out

    Good call ! This stretch with irregular starters needs a run scoring average of about 8 to be competitive. July 4th was definitely an outlier, but very appreciated.

    You guys think I was kidding about Robles needing to build his confidence. Who is warming up to prove AC's devotion to his players? Thank goodness, AC had a sane moment and let Hansel just keep warming up, with Schreiber trying to close it

    Nice hitting by Franchy to stretch the lead. Almost humorous to watch Vaz hugging the bases one at a time unlike his earlier tendencies to go flying around

    The Dodgers just extended their backup catcher, Austin Barnes, for 2 years at $7MM total. Would it make sense for the Red Sox to discuss extending Vazquez at for 2 years at $13MM? We know there will be some significant turnover this coming off season with high profile players. Do we want a key position behind the plate also moving?

    JD must be feeling better with that sharp grounder. Surely need him to come around before Bloom trades him late on August 2

    No Ted, I think AC should bring in Hansel to help build his confidence. Who knows it might work. Or backfire. Cora would never live that down.

    Blocking pitches in front of him is not Vaz's strong suit. Sure hope that misplay K doesn't factor in to anything by the Rays.

    So is it "hating" to note that the guy has not hit effectively in the past month? Bogey and Devers are suffering from the same condition.

    The hitting slump continues. Devers and JDM are now official members of the groundpounders club
