  1. You know, Bell, there's nothing like the feeling a come from behind win gives us. So By Nick P. giving up the 2nd inning HR, and the Sox 1-2-3 first, we are now officially playing from BEHIND AGAIN
  2. Is it too early yet to analyze Story's output to date, LOL
  3. He must have been or Bloom would have been directed by JH to pay him what he had earned to keep a generational talent in Boston, perhaps adding a another WS title to the first 4.
  4. Amazing how a legit WS contender can take out our trash and make them good , i.e. Brasier and Kike, oh and Mookie too.
  5. Just imagine the deep dives the analytics staff will do this winter to figure out the Sox tendency to struggle with weaker teams and 2 game sweep teams like the Braves. If Reyes's GS walkoff the other night did not jack up the Sox for last night's game, and it clearly did not, then perhaps blind optimism should be temporarily shelved until tonight's game is in the books.
  6. Or just take your pick, I'm sure there will be more than enough brilliant observations to fill both threads.
  7. Jordan Lyles, 3-12 with a 6.24 ERA, taking on Nick Pivetta 7-6 4.19 ERA . Nick prospered when coming in after an opener , but now needs to start the game from first pitch. Sox hitters for the second time this season have been stuck in an extended (10 games+) group slump . Not sure how all of them can go bad at once. But with Lyle on the mound , what could go wrong ? Looking for a Red Sox rebound putting up 8 or 9 runs tonight, while the pitchers hold KC to 4 or less. Quick Note: Story will DH tonight, Reyes at SS, while Justin Turner lets his heel heal : Lamet is DFA'ed, Robertson demoted ,with Barraclough and Walters in line to earn $4,444.44 each for being there. (MLB $min/162)
  8. And overuse due to injuries among the "starters" exacerbates and exposes sharply the inabilities of the truly marginal talents we have seen at the back end of the pen.
  9. And the parade through the BP continues with Barraclough and Walters back up, Lamet DFA'ed, and Robertson sent down to WooSox . If this is an organization with a game plan to do anything except rearrange the deck chairs, please start showing some concept of how they will improve this team's abilities. Open tryouts time was last Spring.
  10. I apologize but cannot watch this crap any more tonight. Good luck to you guys.
  11. He's watching late noight ESPN reruns of the Little League World Series
  12. Great post, reflecting reality . We do have a great set-up man and closer, but as you note, generally need the lead.
  13. Robertson is the next SoS to be located on the mound at Fenway.
  14. I think it is AC's way of saying F U to Chaim
  15. Well Story did make contact and hit the ball. But, in fact, he was chasing a low away pitch rolling it over to SS. Did not expect anything from him and he doesn't disappoint. Will probably need tomorrow off to reassess
  16. Honest question---- Does Bloom and his personnel actually watch these games in real time and assess these jabronies they bring in. I see him in a few of the NESN shots but he's usually walking out of the suite heading to the restroom. Probably to vomit.
  17. Very hard to do, but any accomplishment is welcome and rewarded
  18. Lamet is most likely the next in a long line of dumpster dives relievers who are getting paid tryouts in Boston. This is truly no way to run an MLB team.
  19. Through 4 innings , the sluggers have 1 hit against 5 ERA dude . Sox now on their 3rd pitcher of the evening.
  20. Crawford basically takes a large dump on his team tonight with a useless start covering 3.1 innings. Continuing his ineffectiveness at Fenway makes him a prime candidate to pitch elsewhere next year.
  21. Casas saves a mess with his leap, but when is the last time you have seen a spinaround pickoff play succeed at 2B ?
  22. Every hit ball up in the air. What does that tell you, Kutter ?
  23. Center cut , up in zone. Kutter needs to gain command
  24. Throwing pitches up in the zone is not a strategy , actually a tactic, that will bode well for Crawford. It has cost him the first run, and once again the Sox start off behind.
  25. Kutter throwing a lot of pitches for 1 out. Nearing 20, needs a DP now
