Sadly, I don't think it matters much. I just don't see this Sox team going anywhere. Ownership is not "all in" on winning and it shows. This is going to be the 5 year "Chicago Cubs" rebuild, getting high draft picks and hoping they turn into stars.
Giolito may have a partial tear of his UCL and may need season ending surgery. What a disaster and a horrible signing!!!! Par for the course for this organization!!!
I think it was a good trade for the Red Sox. Schreiber is 35 years old. He was really good in 2022 but so so in 2023. Sell high. Hope the prospect turns into a contributer.
Sox should not trade any of their top prospects under the current circumstances. The only way they should is if they are getting a young, controllable, star, a la Pedro for
Tony Armas Jr. and Carl Pavano.
