  1. Millar talking about Kyle Schwarber on NESN. I said it at the time and I will say it again, the Red Sox blew it when they let him get away. Talk about the ultimate DH, team guy and great influence on teammates.
  2. The bullpen is the reason the Red Sox are not 3-5 games in front of the Yankees. Breslow is supposed to know pitching. He needs to start acting like it.
  3. Slaten is a ham and egger who caught lightening in botttle last year but he is not a high leverage guy. He and Whitlock, along with Zach Kelly, have cost the Sox at least 5 wins this year. Big difference between 18-18 and 23-15. Seasons are lost by bullpens blowing late leads.
  4. Losing two out of three to the twins shows you that this Red Sox team is not ready to be a contender. You have to have reliable, bullpen guys and right now besides Chapman they don’t have any.
  5. Raffy looked sick on that curve. He should’ve let the other curveball hit him.
  6. Red Sox 0-11 when trailing after 6. That’s says a lot about clutch hitting
  7. If Wong had let the double steal happen the Sox would be ahead now. Instead, he fouls the ball off and then hits into a double play.. stupid baseball.
  8. He was able to dominate all of the batters who were using steroids during that era.
  9. With this bullpen, no lead is safe unless Chapman is in.
  10. Except when he calls for an off speed pitch to Guerrero!
  11. Bello is pitching really well. Hope the Sox don't waste 3 consecutive good starting pitching performances.
  12. A little research: "Fired 16 months ago, Duquette isn't talking. Duquette's now-famous explanation -- that Clemens was embarking on "the twilight of his career'' -- came to ultimately haunt Duquette and, just maybe, motivate the pitcher himself. With the benefit of hindsight, Duquette's contention now seems absurd. Since leaving Boston, Clemens has gone on to win 107 games, three Cy Young Awards, two mythical pitching Triple Crowns and two world championships. Some twilight."
  13. That is NOT TRUE. At the end of the 1996 season, Duquette stated that Clemens was in the twilight of his career. This perception was likely based on Clemens's final four years with the Red Sox, which, while still productive, were not his most dominant. Look it up.
  14. If Cedanne could just make contact like Duran, the Sox would have the lead. Looks like he needs to go back to AAA for more seasoning. Bring up Roman.
  15. If Hamilton could steal first base he would be awesome.
  16. Why is Cedanne swinging when Hamilton has the base stolen. Dumb.
