I also have a brand new, never worn 2004 Red Sox WS championship T-shirt autographed on the field during the celebration at Busch Stadium by Big Papi, Varitek, Bronson Arroyo and Ellis Burks. Treasure!
  2. Tedballgame
I have Ted Williams, Dice-K (don't know why) and brand new never worn Mookie Betts jerseys. I have Big Papi and Ted's jerseys T-shirts. Need to get a Yaz!

Connor Wong and Jeter Downs are impressive prospects. They may help down the road or be put into another trade later to get players who can help this year or next. My guess is that Bloom will play the long game.
  4. Tedballgame
Unless Graterol turns into an outstanding, injury free pitcher.
  5. Tedballgame
    You are delusional jackwad.

I feel so sorry for these multi-million dollar players (Price & Mookie) being in limbo and not knowing what luxury condo they will be living in and what city they will be playing in. Must be horrible! Tony Clark things so! What an idiot.
  7. Tedballgame
Red Sox spooked by Graterol's medicals. Trade is held up. Possible revision.
  8. Tedballgame
I don't think Bloom is a guy who is going to trade prospects like DD. He will try to build up the farm system and make smart FA signings like TB did with Charlie Morton.
  9. Tedballgame
They can still contend in 2020. The roster isn't set yet and they have money now to add talent at the trade deadline.

How about A-Rod, Chris Sale, Tom Seaver and Babe Ruth? All salary dump trades.
  11. Tedballgame
Babe Ruth was traded in a salary dump.
  12. Tedballgame
White Sox traded Chris Sale to Sox in a salary dump. Montreal traded Pedro Martinez to the Red Sox in a salary dump.
  13. Tedballgame
Ever heard of Miguel Cabrera? Traded at age 24 in a salary dump. Hall of Famer. How about Texas trading A-Rod at age 28 in a salary dump? Its been done before many times by a lot of teams. Its not just the Red Sox.

Sox will be fine. Most, but not all, the Captain Negatives and General Doomsday here should just tune in to Felger and Mazz to commiserate together.

Bloom now has some financial flexibility to make some moves to shore up the team. They still have Devers, Bogie, JDM, Benny, Verdugo, JBJ, Vazquez, Sale, E-Rod etc. They will contend in 2020 and beyond. It is not all doom and gloom like many are predicting. I'm excited to see how they do this year and beyond. After all the championships in the last 16 years (eat your heart out Jacko) we are playing with house money. Bloom helped make TB relevant with a small payroll. He will be better than Theo and DD before its all over.

Everyone is looking at this all wrong. The Red Sox traded Betts to the Dodgers to make sure the Yankees don't win the WS this year and the coming years. You have to love it!
  17. Tedballgame
They save nothing if they DFA JBJ! They still have to pay him. LOL.
  18. Tedballgame
Padre offer didn't include Sox being able to dump Price and if it did, they would have had to take Wil Myers bloated contract. No thanks.
  19. Tedballgame
Considering that Mookie was not going to sign with the Red Sox and is going to be a FA after this season, Bloom did well to get what he did and move Price also.
  20. Tedballgame
Who is Webber? De La Rosa helped get Schilling who helped break the curse. Bard was really good until he couldn't throw strikes. They ruined Hanson by throwing him there too soon.
  21. Tedballgame
Graterol only 21 and throws 100MPH. I like it.
  22. Tedballgame
Hoping Mookie stays in the NL.
  23. Tedballgame
Sox paying half of Price's contract.
  24. Tedballgame
Brusdar Graterol, hard throwing pitcher going to Red Sox.
  25. Tedballgame
Verdugo is a good, young player. With money saved they can get some other good players and still go after Mookie in free agency if they want to. Not having to hear Price whine is worth it alone.
