I can't even imagine a manager trying to take Bob Gibson out of a game because he threw 100 pitches. The manager would get his what for and Bob would still be on the mound.
Prior to the 'pitch count' era, no one cared how many pitches a pitcher threw; hell, it was never even mentioned. Nolan Ryan, because of control issues, would throw close to 200 pitches in a lot of games.
If that happens this season, Moon, I'm pretty sure Vegas would give the SOX the best odds in the AL of reaching the WS. But, obviously, that's a big IF.
Please play tonight; I don't want to watch 2 seven inning games on Sunday. I'm not a fan of 7 inning baseball. Btw, NL, don't use the purity of baseball excuse to deny the use of the DH. The purity of baseball has left the building.
When one thinks about it, the only advantage the Yankems actually have over the SOX is their BP. Their starters are Cole and 4 other guys, who are nothing to write home about. I believe the SOX offense is better. Not sure about defense.
