  1. JH didn't want to go over the salary cap and Bloom didn't want to trade 'top prospects.' So this is why the SOX didn't get what they needed to make a serious run to get to the WS. Is it too early to chant "wait till next year?"
  2. It appears they can seeing that Robles is on the 40 man roster and Schwarber is not.
  3. But other than that. At least, MAX, you didn't whip a dead horse known as our starting staff, with the exception of EO.
  4. That should be 1946, not 1967.
  5. No complaints here, but it was almost a possibility. 4 championships in 16 years, while most MLB teams haven't even won 1. Again, I repeat, no complaints here.
  6. In their 4 WS before 2004 and beginning in 1946, the SOX had a record of 12-16, losing all 4 in seven games. In the 4 WS since 2004 the Sox have a record of 16-3. And if it wasn't for Kinsler tripping over his own feet, the record would have been 16-2.
  7. Btw, I wonder what the SOX history would have looked like if Billy Beane had accepted JH's offer when JH took over the SOX?
  8. Nope, but from 2017, not counting 2020, he has averaged over 30 HR's per season and has a lifetime OPS of .828.
  9. I've read that many pitchers who have returned from TJ surgery actually found an increase in their velocity. I know that was the case for Eovaldi.
  10. Actually, I would prefer a Honda Civic over a Mercedes. Much more reliable. And with the money you'd save, you could buy a very nice stereo system to play DIRTY WATER on.
  11. Houck is scheduled to start one of those games on August 7th.
  12. I've retired also. Hopefully, we can go with that 3 man rotation I mentioned earlier.
  13. And a big shout out to Pedro. I love you, Pedro. Besides being the great pitcher he was, he was also the main reason the SOX signed David Ortiz.
  14. I really shouldn't be dissing JH. The SOX have won the most WS since 2000 and that was mostly do to JH not afraid to spend heavily. He really has been a great owner.
  15. It's only a 'big market team' if the owner gives you a blank check. That didn't happen. I would blame Bloom for protecting all his top prospects. So with no blank check, not willing to part with any top prospects, leaves making any significant trade impossible. Like I posted earlier, I'm surprised the SOX even got Schwarber for a single A pitcher. If Schwarber wasn't on the IL, the SOX probably wouldn't have gotten him either.
  16. I suck on starting game threads also. We should stick with MOON, THUNDER and MAX. 3 man rotation.
  17. They did trade their closer to the Astros as did Seattle.
  18. Wow, can you imagine if EO wasn't having his best season ever, so far.
  19. Cora might have mentioned to Bloom "please get me a starter."
  20. But in the long season, usually the team with the better pitching and defense wins the race. Comeback wins are exciting, but are they sustainable over 162 games? For the SOX sake, we'd better hope so.
  21. That this particular team is currently in 1st place may be the best magic trick I've ever seen.
  22. Someone who wasn't a big baseball fan and didn't keep track of the standings would assume after reading these posts that the SOX were in last place. Moon said it best when he called this season, so far, magical. There's really no other valid explanation.
  23. When you post it that way, yes, he's the least of the worst.
  24. I agree with much of what you posted, but, really, there is no help for Perez.
