  1. There were a lot of requests for Ryan Weber's services.
  2. The SOX batters will do much better when they get into the Royals' BP. Er, what's that? Nevermind.
  3. Hard to call a good game behind the plate when the pitcher has only one pitch he can throw for strikes.
  4. Head up his azz base running by Arroyo.
  5. Zero runs and pitch count under 20; an exceptional 1st inning for a SOX starter.
  6. I don't know if it was mentioned in Wednesday's game, but the GS hit by Arroyo traveled 467 feet.
  7. Hi, Moon. The SOX are 8th in ERA and Houston is 4th.
  8. Was it brown with a UPS symbol on it?
  9. I agree with this. However, I would say there's at least a half dozen starters I would prefer over Betts. SOX need a quality starter and I have no idea how they'll acquire one.
  10. Only one team in the major leagues that has a higher team ERA than the SOX(4.24) and is playing over .500 ball is the Reds (4.70). They are 35-32.
  11. Concerning the Rays; will they go against their nature and try and make a deal for Scherzer? They do have the prospects to make that happen.
  12. Betts is gone. He got an offer from the Dodgers he couldn't refuse. Thanks, Mookie for 2018 and good luck to you. Right now, I'm more interested in the player the SOX received for Betts. Verdugo hasn't exactly been chopped liver; he's been good since he's been a SOX and I see him getting even better. One can't put a price on the enthusiasm Dugo brings to each and every game he plays.
  13. Any changes approved by MLB will always favor the hitters and not the pitchers. It all started in 1969 when the mound was lowered.
  14. He had 406. Hank Aaron in the NL had exactly 400 in 1959.
  15. Yup, and in '78 Jim led his league in HR's(46), Triples(15), and RBI(139); he's the only player who ever did that in ML history.
  16. Here's a question for MVP78, but anyone can jump in if they want: What offensive statistic did Jim Rice accomplish in 1978 that hadn't been done in the AL since 1937 by Joe DiMaggio?
  17. Hi, Moon. The stat I was referring to was that the SOX have the fewest walks in MLB.
  18. Maybe my memory has failed me, but I remember Josh being mostly welcomed with sarcastic comments when he entered a game and that was before this season and early in this season. But it really doesn't matter; the past is the past. Right now he's one of the guys who has contributed hugely to the SOX success.
