If the whole point of a baseball season is to win a WS, and if the team one roots for has no chance of winning a WS, even if they do make the PO's, does it really matter if they get to the PO's. The SOX have won 4 WS since 2004, but with much better teams than the current one.
I've made it even more painful by having the game on the YES feed with the mute off. Nothing more painful than listening to a happy Kay, Conehead, and O'neill. But, then, because the SOX fooled me for so long this season, I deserve to suffer.
Back in the days of The Boys Of Summer, most of the players earned as much money winning the WS as they earned for the whole season. There wasn't so much socializing on the bases as there is now.
