  1. But they were better then, but so were we. The SOX just don't do well on those distant road trips.
  2. But your answer was a lot better than the one I gave for the NESN trivia question.
  3. You're late to the party, Ted. Larry Walker was the answer.
  4. The Texas offense is offensive.
  5. The Rays are the cockroaches of baseball. They just keep coming back in the late innings. Is timely hitting sustainable? The Rays seem to think so.
  6. At this point in the season one excuse the SOX can't use is injuries. I don't have the stats, but I'm guessing that of all the contending teams the SOX have had the fewest IL's. Except for Arroyo, who is an injury about to happen, the SOX have been a very healthy team this season.
  7. The Yankems had good starting pitching most of the season and a good BP. You had to figure their offense would eventually come around. Also, their trade deadline pickups didn't hurt either.
  8. If I was a betting person, I'd bet that the White Sox will end up in the WS.
  9. We won't see a good opponent until Aug. 30th.
  10. Well done, Vegas.
  11. I'm really impressed with Shwarber's plate discipline.
  12. The Rangers, like the O's, can help create optimism.
  13. For some reason I always thought Andre Dawson was born in Canada. He was drafted by the Montreal Expos. That's probably why I was confused. Andre was born in Miami, FL.
  14. It also shows that in over half of their games they've scored less than 5 runs.
  15. Only two Canadian born ballplayers are in the MLB HOF. Fergie Jenkins is one; can you name the other? Clue: He wasn't a pitcher.
  16. The SOX are 17-48 when they don't score at least 5 runs.
  17. This Dunning guy actually has respectable starting stats. A 4.06 ERA entering this game.
  18. Correct me if I'm wrong again, but the last 4 or 5 HR's by the SOX have all been Hans Solos.
  19. Damn, I was so wrong with Lee Smith. He didn't even start his career in MLB til 1980.
  20. Yup; That's why you're a 700 hitter.
  21. I believe Lee Smith is the answer to the NESN trivia question.
  22. Is anyone here old enough to remember when players feared and respected their manager?
  23. OK; I guess there's no reason to hustle when 'it doesn't matter.'
