When Jack Hamilton hit Tony C in the eye with a fastball, that was the worst thing I'd ever seen in a baseball game. In seconds a most likely fantastic baseball career was ruined.
The Dodgers' starters and BP can make the offense of any team they face look pathetic. That being said, it is true that they haven't faced as good an offense as the SOX or Astros. Btw, the Dodgers' offense isn't anything to write home about, but their pitching and defense will make them a very difficult team to beat in the WS, if they get there. I believe they will.
When Gibby started a game, the BP stayed in the clubhouse and played ping pong. Plus, what manager would have the balls to take Gibson out of the game?
Allen was a piece of work. He would write derogatory messages at 3rd base with his spikes directed at the fans and the owner. He was also strong as an ox and employed a 40oz bat at the plate.
Gibby once threw at a player in the on deck circle. Except he wasn't in the on deck circle. He was trying to get a better view of what Gibson was throwing, so Gibson just threw the ball at him.
SOX offensive pattern in so many games this season. Score early and often and then go on vacation. Personally, I don't care when they score the runs, as long as they score enough to win.
I have to keep reminding myself that this is a 6 run game. If the SOX do improve the BP next season, we won't have as much drama as we've had this season. I believe we all love drama.
