  1. Severino may have a screw loose.
  2. Watching Gallo in the field, it's lucky for the Yankmees that he can hit. What's that? Nevermind.
  3. Two surprises there.1)That Gallo got a hit and 2) that he would run on JBJ's arm.
  4. The BRUINS are playing at Tampa tonight, so this could really turn into a damn s***** day.
  5. Tough loss. I'm pretty sure there will be more as the season progresses. I doubt Whitlock will be available tomorrow, but Kutter, no doubt, will be.
  6. The only way to insure that only the best team from both leagues makes it to the WS is to have each league have one division of 15 teams. No wild cards, only the 1st place teams head to the WS. Of course that will never happen because fairness will never replace the money factor. Btw, that was how it worked for a very long time long ago.
  7. In 2006 the Cards won it all after finishing the regular season at 83-79. It does appear to make the regular season insignificant. I guess it isn't always the best team that wins, but more importantly, it's the team that gets hot at the appropriate time.
  8. I only knew Jerry from his work in the SOX broadcast booth. I enjoyed his banter during the games and his love for the SOX. He will be impossible to replace. RIP Rem Dog.
  9. Speaking of football, I watched a few youtube videos today of my all-time favorite QB, Sonny Jurgenson. IMHO, the purest passer who ever played the game. In 1969 Vince Lombardi became the head coach of the 'Skins and they had their first winning season in years. After the season was over Lombardi told a group of reporters that Jurgenson was the best QB he'd ever coached. Sadly, Vince died prior to the 1970 season.
  10. I believe most here know how I feel about chUMPIRNG in MLB. I'm all for robo-chUMPS. When inepts like Angel Hernandez and Lars Diaz are still employed to call balls and strikes, you know it's time to make a drastic change.
  11. The SOX played 162 regular season games in 1967. They finished with a 92-70 record. The American League went to a 162 game schedule in 1961. The National League went to 162 games in 1962.
  12. I believe that this year's version of the SOX had more obvious problems than the '67 version. This year's team also won more PO games than the '67 team. So I'll stick with my opinion that this team did more with less than any SOX team in my memory. Btw, both this year's team and the '67 team won 92 games during the regular season.
  13. Sorry for the confusion. I was referring to those occasions when SOX pitchers did pitch well.
  14. True, but they did pick up some BP help at the trade deadline. Much more than the SOX did. Barnes imploding in the 2nd half had a lot to do with the SOX BP struggles, obviously.
  15. Yup. Cheating will be on one's resume forever.
  16. His involvement in the Astros' cheating may affect Cora's chance of MOY. Not fair, but it probably will.
  17. Makes me wonder how many teams in recent history got to the LCS and still needed to fix as many holes as the SOX will have to before next season. This 2021 version of the SOX overachieved and I thank them for that.
  18. IMHO, this SOX team did more with less than any SOX team I can remember.
  19. The SOX took 'nowhere' further than it's ever been.
  20. It's amazing what a couple of fans on this thread post. When SOX pitchers hold the opposition to 2 runs or less(very rare) these few fans post "what a great job our pitching staff did." When the opposition's pitcher holds the SOX to 2 runs or less, they post "our hitters really suck." To them only great pitching can come from the SOX.
  21. Hope Bloom can re-sign Iggy. Schwarber, also, but that seems unlikely because I doubt that JD opts out or that the SOX can trade him w/o eating a big chunk of his contract. Oh, well, que sera, sera.
  22. When I don't post 'DEVERS DEliVERS,' that's usually a bad day or night for the SOX.
  23. See ya next season, MOON. You're living proof that SOX fans are the smartest.
  24. They also deteriorated as the BP got worse and worse.
  25. See ya, Jackson. You're not the worst Yankem fan I've ever met. I will credit you on one thing; you have mastered the art of condescending posts.
