There's always a reason. We are talking about the SOX, right?
  2. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Damn, they're taking Garcia out. Spoil sport manager.
  3. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Max, you're talking to yourself; ya must have money in the bank.
  4. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Only an idiot wouldn't let him play everyday.
  5. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Casas working his way to becoming the 'face' of the SOX.
  6. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
At least none of the SOX/Yankem games this weekend will be televised on ESPN. That's a minor blessing.
  7. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Sunday's game will be televised on Amazon Prime, but it will still be shown on NESN and MLB.
  8. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Story instructs Devers the correct way to hit into a DP.
  9. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
BTW, in case you were unaware, Friday night's game against the Yankems will be televised on Apple+.

Sale vs Corbin(LH) Ref Devers Story(DH) Duvall Masa Reyes(SS) Casas Wong Urias Need a win today. Corbin was born and raised @10 miles from me. Go SOX!
  11. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Sometimes one has to tip the cap to the opposing pitcher. Gore had damn good stuff tonight. He kept the SOX batters off balance for most of the game.
  12. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Another very good start by Paxton that was wasted. The SOX need to offer him an extension.
  13. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
If it's any consolation the SOX are in much better shape than the Yankems going forward. Yankems' starting pitching is Cole and 4 days of rain and their offense is pathetic. They've got high-priced failing players they won't be able to get rid of very easily. I don't know the condition of their farm system, but I'm guessing it's not that great. Michael Kay has been quoted "this is just a bad team." Btw, they were shut out again tonight by the Braves.
  14. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
With luck the SOX could have won this one. Whitlock makes that hardly likely.
  15. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Reyes entered tonight's game with an OPS+ of 109. I'm pretty sure it's moved up after tonight.
  16. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Time to offer Reyes an extension.
  17. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
I'm pretty confident that after Devers retires he won't become a hitting coach.
  18. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
I heard recently that whichever team signs Ohtani will have to go with a six man rotation. That's Ohtani's own requirement.
  19. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Starts next year, but I know what you mean.
  20. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Right now Devers is just a bad hitter, period.
  21. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Good win against a team that has been playing well lately. Onward and upward.
  22. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
For over a month I've been waiting for Devers to be the driver of this playoff chasing bus, but, so far, he's merely been a passenger.
  23. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
That Angel hasn't been fired after all of his years as a terrible chUMP proves the Umpires Union doesn't give one s*** about quality chUMPIRING. And that crap union is going to fight to not allow robo umps.
  24. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Angel is the face of the Umpires' Union.
  25. SPLENDIDSPLINTER
Maybe the powers that be can implement a new rule allowing teams to have a designated base runner for a certain player on the team. That may have extended Ortiz's career.
