  1. Good shut down inning. Pitch count not encouraging.
  2. I've been noticing that, also. But it really hasn't effected the SOX offensively. They just don't score often in the 1st, but make up for it in the remaining 8.
  3. Great to see the opposing team make a big infield error.
  4. SOX lead MLB in OPS at .776 and are tied with San Diego for the lead in BA at .264.
  5. 9 runs, 18 hits, 27 outs. Good win!
  6. Sims is definitely the SOX go-to guy from the pen at this point.
  7. A very good quality start by James.
  8. I posted that James shouldn't have come out in the 6th. How wrong was that?
  9. SOX announcer said that Masa was 'motoring' to second. In the case of Masa I believe 'scootering' would be more apropos.
  10. And the runs just keep on comin'. The SOX are an offensive juggernaut.
  11. A very timely hit by Duran.
  12. So far Sogard has been better than just so so.
  13. At this point I'd say "nice job, James," and then bring in a reliever to start the 6th.
  14. No doubt, Raffy hits much better w/o RISP. I'm guessing it's a mental thing. Maybe he over swings more.
  15. Hey, MAX. The SOX have averaged over 6 runs/game since July 1st. I'd say the line-up has done their job. The starting pitching? Not so much.
  16. Devers has great numbers except for BA with RISP. IMHO, a very important stat.
  17. There were 2 outs in the bottom of the 5th and no one on base. I'll put money on it being a discipline move. Or it can be called a 'learning experience.'
  18. BTW, you don't have to defend Cora when no one criticized him.
  19. Max, this was a discipline move by Cora. It couldn't be more obvious. Cora went to the mound after Nick gave up the 2nd homer and he wasn't talking about pitch selection. Nick is very competitive and emotional. Cora probably felt he was just a little too emotional after that 2nd homer.
  20. Good job by all involved today. Pivetta and the pen were very good.
  21. Funny, right after I posted this, the Rangers announcers just said the same thing.
  22. Cora wasn't happy with Nick's antics after he gave up his 2nd homer. Probably that was the reason he took Pivetta out and not allowing him to qualify for a win.
  23. He was taken out with 2 outs and no one on base. Something other than winning the game was going on there. imho.
