  1. Jansen gets a timely hit. Timely hits haven't been a feature of this year's SOX.
  2. Dom Smith has been a hitting machine the last couple of weeks. He hasn't been a problem during this post ASB meltdown.
  3. You look at Seattles' pitchers and then you look at their team W/L record. You look at the SOX pitchers and then you look at their team W/L record. Both are surprising in different ways.
  4. It was a given going into this TDL that teams looking for pitching would be gouged.
  5. The SOX made some moves w/o giving up any of their top ten prospects, except for Yorke. I do like the Sims and Garcia additions and Jansen is a better hitter than McGuire.
  6. According to the so-called experts, the worst trade approaching the TDL was what Houston gave up for a not very good Kikuchi.
  7. Garcia does have an ERA+ of 116 this season, which means he's 16% better than the average pitcher. His lifetime ERA+ is 103.
  8. Source says it's not deadline related.
  9. I still doubt that would have gotten it done.
  10. SOX would have to include Mayer in the trade.
  11. I'm guessing after 6PM, the SOX big signing will have been Cora.
  12. Well, the SOX really were never seriously in the hunt, so, at least, Scott's not in the AL East.
  13. The last I heard was the SOX are still in the hunt for rental Tanner Scott along with the Yankems and the O's.
  14. Thanks again, MOON, for your well researched posts. You the man.
  15. Another RH pitcher(Castillo) for the Mariners tomorrow night. SOX will fight back with Paxton.
  16. The SOX are overstocked with clean-up pitchers.
  17. One could argue that the last good proven starter who was drafted by the SOX, developed in the SOX farm and pitched for the SOX was Clay Buchholz. Another claim to fame for Clay was most posters couldn't spell his last name correctly.
  18. It appears Win is just another loser from the SOX farm. How can a farm system be so bad at developing pitching for so long? I guess you'll have to wait for the movie.
  19. I know some here aren't infatuated with him, but I've posted a couple of times that, imho, he's the best contact hitter on the team.
  20. Dom has been like duct tape. It's not a perfect fix, but it's better than chewing gum.
  21. One good thing about picking up Paxton is he's one less LH the SOX will have to face down the road.
  22. I'm pretty sure Pivetta will never pitch for the Colorado Rockies.
  23. The SOX score a lot of runs off RH's and Pivetta gives up a lot of HR's. Nothing surprising here.
