  1. Early 's ERA coming into this game was 3.30. However, his FIP was 4.75.
  2. Well, that wonderful play allows Contreras to hit another solo HR.
  3. There's so much shite on network TV one could fertilize every farm in America.
  4. When I think of Scottish sports, which isn't often, I think of log tossing.
  5. Well, it was 2-1 at one point in this game, but I get what you're saying.
  6. Interestingly, the night the Sox were rained out against the Yankems I flipped over to the Cleveland/Texas game and watched the Guardians abuse Jack Leiter.
  7. Ignore the above. The Internet gave me bogus info. Craig was only 10-24 in 1962.
  8. In 1962 Roger Craig won 20 games for a Mets' team that lost 120 games. Roger also lost 24 games that same season. 20-24, think about that when you see how pitchers are treated today.
  9. Here's an interesting baseball fact. From what I could find only 7 pitchers in MLB history have won 20 or more games on teams that lost 90 or more games. The most amazing was in 1972 when Steve Carlton won 27 games for a Phillies' team that went 57-97. Steve finished the season 27-10 with a 1.97ERA.
  10. Another fine job by Sonny tonight. If he gets the win, he'll be tied for 2nd in MLB with 8 wins. There's a 3 way tie for 1st with 9 wins. 8 wins on this team at this point in the season is amazing.
