A great name from the past. Considered the slowest runner to ever play MLB, Ernie still had a lifetime batting average of .306. Ernie, not surprisingly, holds the ML record for hitting into DP's. He'd hit the ball so hard to RF that on more than a few occasions he'd be thrown out at first by the RF. Said of Ernie "he was so slow it seemed like he not only had a piano on his back, but also the guy tuning it." But he was definitely a great hitter.
