  1. Sadly, Mr Davis died before he ever got to play one game with the Browns. I used to wonder just how great a backfield Cleveland would have had with Jim Brown and Davis.
  2. Actually, it was Leon's bat that brought him back to the show.
  3. The SKINS traded Ernie Davis to Cleveland for Bobby Mitchell, so I fail to see your point about a segregated NFL.
  4. Just another SOX player who is embarrassing the number 42 at the moment.
  5. A sad joke, but a joke none the less.
  6. He had a sterling 6.50 ERA for Seattle last year.
  7. If it wasn't for owners like Tom Yawkey, integration in baseball never would have happened.
  8. The SOX offense is so bad I doubt they could even hit Porcello.
  9. As far as the minor league system is concerned, going into this season the SOX had only one prospect in the top 100. That was Chavez at 79.
  10. Easy to understand why Sale jumped on that 5 year extension.
  11. I'm, unfortunately, receiving the game on the YES network with the mute on. It appears the radar gun is running high by about 3mph.
  12. I guess they won't be naming a hamburger after Thornburg in Boston.
  13. I totally approve the above message.
  14. Mancini has been playing some beautiful music with his bat so far this season.
  15. I do love hockey and I do find the NBA boring. College basketball, IMO, is much more interesting than NBA. Go Bruins!
  16. I just noticed that Walden leads the SOX pitchers in wins with 2.
  17. Different strokes for different folks. Hell, some people even think soccer, tennis and golf are exciting to watch.
  18. Just to prove a point that ML ballplayers are overly protected to the detriment of the game.
  19. In my time of following the SOX they've had two excellent RH power hitters; Jim Rice and Manny Ramirez. JD now brings that total to three.
  20. What is the status on Beni? If he's put on the IL, I wonder if the SOX will bring up Chavez?
  21. BTW, these ballplayers should watch hockey and see how easy they have it.
  22. That makes sense. Thanks.
  23. Great play by Pearce..
