  10. Speaking of close shaves, for a long time hockey goalies didn't wear a mask. Now that was crazy.
  11. Btw, Gentleman Jim Lonborg didn't mind giving the batters a close shave.
  12. Also, the batters didn't wear elbow pads during those two pitcher's time. Yup, the game has definitely changed after the end of one year contracts.
  13. Watching those close shave inside fastballs brings back memories of Bob Gibson and Don Drysdale. Two great pitchers who would find it difficult to pitch under today's rules.
  14. In most cases when a robot replaces a person at the work place, it's to make more profits for the company. In the case of HP umpires, a robot replaces them because the umps are terrible at their job. Btw, you know the umps are gonna hate the use of a robotic balls and strikes, but F them.
  15. Sorry OB and ECK, but, imho, pitching 6 innings, although it was a very good effort, doesn't qualify as outstanding.
  16. Right now Cody Bellinger leads in just about every offensive statistic in MLB, including hard hit balls. He has 41.

  18. JD is tied for 3rd in hard hit balls in MLB. He has 38. Hard hit balls are defined as 95+mph.

  20. I'm kidding about JBJ; he'll wind up @ .200 at season's end.
  21. The SOX hitters whose batting average now is near where it will be at the end of the season are Beni, Moreland, JD, Devers, JBJ, Bogey, and VAZ.
  22. JD continues to bat with no one on base.
