  1. A crooked number; not the biggest crooked number, but a crooked number none the less.
  2. There's a 4 word phrase I've always liked that suits this team perfectly; AN EXERCISE IN FUTILITY.
  3. Here's a question: In what inning does e-rod reach the magic 100 pitch count?
  4. I meant the recent past; 2018. Btw, Gary Geiger pinched hit for both YAZ and TED WILLIAMS.
  5. Actually, the excitement starts tomorrow night with the BRUINS. Go Bruins!
  6. Is this the game where JBJ gets a hit? Are you excited now?
  7. It's said one shouldn't live in the past, but if you're a SOX fan, that's where you should be living. The present SOX team is pathetic and shows no signs of getting better. The BRUINS will, at least, give me something worth watching for a while. SOX highlight of the day was Chavis's 441 foot HR. Hope he continues to play everyday, and, hopefully, the SOX FO will start to unload the dead weight on this team, starting with the offensively challenged CF.
  8. Since when is pitching 5 innings by the team's Ace not a problem. If the SOX get 5 innings from VAL tonight, that's a different story.
  9. I definitely enjoyed last year. Btw, seeing how there's a Yankem fan on this thread, I'll ask him the same question I'd asked SOX fans. If the Yankems were guaranteed a WS win this year, but they would finish in last the following year, would you take that?
  10. He was definitely part of the problem.
  11. Go Bruins! You were referring to the BRUINS?
  12. Pitching only 5 innings is fully bad, especially with an overworked pen.
  13. The BP is not the greatest, but c'mon, the SOX starters have been the real problem. Most BP's, when they're exposed as much as the SOX pen, will s*** their pants.
  14. Waldren leads the SOX with 3 wins.
  15. Thank goodness he can hit. Er, what's that? Nevermind.
  16. After this 23rd game by the SOX the starters have a total of 2 wins. The only team I'm sure of who had fewer wins by starters after the 23rd game is the '88 Orioles that started the season at 0-21.
  17. JD made that look easy. Btw, because Sale only went 5, the BP is forced to work overtime. That especially hurts the SOX because in the 2nd game the SOX will be lucky to get 4 innings from VAL.
  18. I'll be DVR'ing the second game so I can watch the BRUINS hopefully win game 7.
  19. That shot by Linn would've been a dinger in Yankem sandbox.
  20. Lin has been working with Veritek at the catching position to serve as an emergency 3rd catcher for the SOX.
  21. Pearce was a great pick-up for the SOX last year. This year demonstrates why he's traded so often.
  22. Hard it ball percentage. MLB has determined that any ball hit 95mph or higher is considered a hard hit ball. Mookie has a hard hit ball % of 100 today.
  23. It just magnifies how pitch-poor the SOX minor league has been for years.
  24. Boyd came into the game with a 2.96 ERA and was 5th in the AL in K's. He's certainly more 'special' than any starter the SOX have right now.
