    My referring to Josh Smith as a triple A thrower may be giving him too much credit. He truly sux.

    A triple A batter hits a homer off a triple A thrower. The only difference is it happened in a major league ballpark.

    Offensively, Boston, Houston, and Colorado have the best left side of the infield in MLB.

    I believe the SOX will pass Tampa in the AL East, but Oakland and Cleveland, that's a much tougher challenge.

    Going to the Tigers when he did was probably the reason JD is what he is today as a hitter. Working with Cabrera and Victor Martinez had to have made an impact on his approach to hitting. The deep breath before every pitch is straight from the Martinez approach at the plate.

    This is very true, but I was referring to the beginning of the season when SOX were employing closing by committee, which failed miserably.

    With a healthy Holt and Marco, I don't understand why Owings is on the team. I know he's a RH batter, but he can't hit, so what's the point?

    The only valid criticism I would aim at DD was not having an established closer in the pen.

    Just as NOBODY would have predicted that E-rod would be the ACE of the staff.

    Since the All-Star break, the SOX are 20-21.

    The SOX offense is actually better this year than last.

    Also, having a DH in the NL will help even out the disparity in ERA's between the two leagues.

    Because most pitchers in both leagues rarely go past 5 innings, the NL really has no excuse now for not adopting the DH. Nobody, except his parents, wants to watch a pitcher bat.

    Every professional athlete has the right to retire whenever they want. The way Luck did it was very shoddy. He will be considered by many Colts' fans as a quitter and that label will override all the good things he did as a Colt.
