  1. Legend has it that Verlander's wife can still be heard complaining that her husband should have won the CYA.
  2. Toro makes the defensive plays, but no one will refer to him as smooth.
  3. I do agree about the ballpark, but I'm also thinking there's less pressure where he is now compared to Boston.
  4. In four full seasons with the Sox Pivetta never had an ERA under 4.
  5. Well, Sale did embarrass Machado when he made the A-hole look bad on the final out of the 2018 WS.
  6. Pivetta went from an innings eater in Boston to an Ace in San Diego. Anyone here have an explanation for this immense improvement?
  7. I'm getting the game on the Padres' feed with old friend Don Orsillo.

  9. I feel it should be mandatory reading for anyone having dreams of making baseball a career.
  10. If I could ask Anthony one question, it would be this: Did you read Ted Williams' The Science of Hitting?
  11. A choice between Buehler and May? Now that's a real Sophie's Choice.
  12. I believe I've shamed Buehler enough to guarantee a quality start tonight. Unfortunately, my guarantees are usually useless.

  14. However, I would love to see Denis Leary and Lenny Clarke call a TV game from the booth. They're both big Sox fans and it would be the best night NESN's had in years.
  15. Hell, most here wouldn't even know she was female until she removed her mask, and even then some would have no clue. Btw, I had no problem with the female announcers Tuesday night. I've commented before that most baseball play-by-play announcers nowadays are produced by cookie cutters.
