  1. A very sad and dangerous situation when the highest ranking U.S. politicians pressure athletes and Georgia based companies to force this situation that actually financially hurts the people of the state they claim to be standing up for. Are those same highest ranking politicians going to force a move of the Olympics from Beijing? I don't think we need to review the human rights abuses there? Will Coke, Delta, and Home Depot be pressured to stay away from the Olympics if it us held in Beijing?
  2. Unfortunately ... Noles might be right. LOL :0 After game 1, I might like a mulligan on my 93 win prognostication ... 73?
  3. I put out a 'Wear your Red Sox Gear' extra credit bulletin this afternoon. I have a no hat policy, but I may just "CANCEL" that harmful and antiquated policy!? I'm seriously thinking about extending this to ALL home... ok, and away games for the entire season? Actually, I think I just made my first Executive Order of the school year? Tough times call for bold actions! GO SOX!
  4. What a ridiculous argument. There is NO DOUBT that on paper, the Yankees are locked & LOADED. Good on them! They built back & bought back right, and their wallet is still open. They built & grew the farm back, and they have a budding powerhouse building. Sox are still in some dire straights, but I think.we can surprise the league in a big way. Let Jacks have his fun! Whatever. I hope we can give his boys a run for their money! Fun stuff! Can't wait to get it on!
  5. All the best to him and his team! I hope they are good! and as the Red Sox re-take their historic rightful place as the clear underdog to the mighty Yankees, I will HOPE and PRAY against all ods, that we kick their mighty arsses! Good luck, & let's get it on! I know it's unrealistic, but I really believe the Sox are going to be in striking distance by the trade deadline. OUR Sox are going to keep his Yankees looking over their shoulders, and I hope we knock them out of a WS spot from the AL.
  6. Sure. If that was his point? Didn't quite seem to be the nub of the point he was jamming in there? LOL :0 otherwise.... I'm. Yeh.
  7. Bit of a nonsequitur? Somewhat relevant, then into the weeds. Has absolutely nothing to do with anything going on now, with a Red Sox player tearing it up in THIS 2021 ST, only to be sent down. About as irrelevant as I've ever heard. Well... other than my post about the Red Sox moves looking far better than the Celtics....
  8. Celtics moves vs. Red Sox? I'm much happier with Bloom than Danny Ainge right now. In fact, I give the Red Sox a 4 to 1 edge in going deep in the playoffs! Somehow, that gives me great hope for our Sox.
  9. 93 wins! That's my call, & I'm sticking to it.
  10. Nice talkin to ya Et tu, Brute? Good on ya mate
  11. Garrett Richards: On Thursday, Richards raved about the state of the rotation. “We’ve got dogs, we’re out there to win and we’re all pushing for each other,” Richards said over Zoom. “It’s a tight-knit group even though we’ve only been together a month and a half or so. We all want each other to do well, and that’s what I think great staffs do — we push each other and we’re always rooting for each other. We share information, we talk pitching, sequences, certain hitters, whatever it may be, but we’re all trying to help each other. We’re all about winning ballgames and ultimately winning a championship. “It’s been nice to see us naturally come together so far without even really trying. So it’s been nice, this whole group, really, to be honest with you. I’m the new guy here and it’s been really easy to fall into place and build relationships with guys here in spring before we get going.” I'm starting to think this Red Sox team is going to be far better than most think. In fact, my money is on the Red Sox eclipsing 90 wins. 93 to be exact.
  12. OUCH! True. Un fairness, he's OWNED the league. https://www.bostonherald.com/2021/03/16/lebron-james-set-to-become-part-owner-of-red-sox-per-reports/ At first, I was sickened by the thought, but after a minute to digest the news, it dawned on me that this 'could because' a great thing for the Red Sox? Scores of mlb players will be intrigued at the prospect of playing for LeBron, so I'm now having a tough time seeing the downside!? Go Sox! It's still going to take some time getting over my disdain for the guy, but if he improves the Sox, he's my new favorite guy in the world!
  13. Unfortunately, this is the closest to anybody knowing anything. We don't. Unfortunately, 700 is "likely" correct. He's gambling on unlikely health and durability against the odds. I'm actually ok with that, and I'm ok with hoping against most hope. He likely will not last, but I do love the upside of hoping I'm dead wrong with my natural doubting Thomas realistic pessimism. Fortunately, I'm balanced by a gambler's personality, and the thrill of betting on a few long shots. LOL :0 or.... my slightly unbalanced nature that just keeps things fun & exciting? Whatever! I damned well hope we are wrong 700! I'm starting to get excited about rooting for this group of numerous "underdogs" and "come back used to be's." I'm kind of sensing a building chemistry that could make for a fun, and possibly very exciting year? If that ball bounces the right way early, I think this is a team that Red Sox fans could really get behind rooting for! Good luck to him and all our guys!
  14. https://www.overthemonster.com/2021/2/27/22305054/boston-red-sox-chicago-cubs-trade-zach-bryant-josh-osich Sounds good!
  15. We're now counting JDM's relatively short contract as a problem, after 1 down messed up Covid partial year? His contract is hardly the problem! Price? Sale? Rusney Castillo? Eovaldi? & not so long ago... Pablo Hanley Manny JDM isn't even near a problem contract. He's signed through next year, and should have a big bounce back season or 2 ....
  16. I just read 60 day DL?
  17. This is feeling more & more like an old Ray's team.
  18. A ridiculous argument. Of course you never know, but Mookie? One of the MOST ATHLETIC, smoooooth, multi-talented, charismatic, NICE, personable, intelligent, 5-tool, relatable, young, HEALTHY, & flat out EXCITING PLAYERS IN THE last 20++ years? We may have lucked out on Lynn, but this was a Gigantic PYSS OUT on Mookie! An embarrassment for the franchise! A MILLENIAL mistake for the franchise! Its not even debatable. You simply don't trade away, and pass on signing a franchise player like this, with incredible ties to Boston! He should have been the face of the Red Sox for the next 10++× years. Instead... they build around who? Yes! I LOVE BOGIE! but thats not it! Every GREAT TEAM needs superstars! To pass on the greatest player of the next 10 years, (fingers crossed) is an mlb crime!
  19. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2929817-jackie-bradley-jr-rumors-red-sox-fa-seeking-contract-perhaps-beyond-4-years Jesus Mary! We passed on making a deal with a GENERATIONAL YOUNG TALENT, the kind of young talent everyone in the league is desperate to sign.... to appeal to the NEXT GENERATION .. one Mookie (cool name) Betts. A guy you could not go wrong with. The freaking guy can professionally bowl, outshoot most Celtics players from the 3 pt line, & the guy you want to date your daughter. Now... we're possibly going to throw JBJ a 6 year contract. Any way you slice it, Bloom blew the biggest deal of his life, and that is not just an opinion, it is a fact! Fan favorite! HUGE GENERATIONAL APPEAL THE GENERATIONAL TALENT of his time! A franchise MAKER! A marketing BOON! 5 tool guy #1 or #2 in the mlb Home grown Unlimited talent A NICE GUY! WON a WS for you already Highlight reel Says & does all the right things Kids LOVE HIM Handsome Well spoken Good role model Don't get me wrong! I love JBJ! BUT... come in now. Sorry! Had to get that off my chest. & the worst part.... Bloom sold us on the "premise" that "WE COULD NOT KEEP Mookie because of TOO MANY OLD s*** CONTRACTS, & we actually bought it. We actually bought it.

  21. Dodgers are likely stuck with thatreduced contract. Even at $16,000,000, who will take a risk on the 32,000,000 still owed? Red Sox? Jesus... another $32,000,000 in sunk costs we still owe on him.
  22. I have to admit to being somewhat optimistic. We've definitely improved our SR, BP, & IF. We've improved our offense, and if JDM & Beni can re-find their swings, We've got what can be a pretty potent offense. Perhaps with Cora back at the helm, they will rediscover that old 2018 fire? God, that seems a lifetime ago. I'm embracing being the underdog too. Really our rightful place in ALE mlb history. So... f*** the Yankees & let's get this party started. Yeh. I'd like a few more moves, but I'm ok with this. Go Sox!
  23. ....but health has been a major issue. Going back to 2016 through 2019, he made more than six starts just once in that stretch and hasn’t topped 76 1⁄3 innings. The 32-year-old (he’ll turn 33 in May) was healthy for the shortened 2020 season, tossing 51 1⁄3 innings with a 4.03 ERA, 46 strikeouts and 17 walks. He leaned heavily on his fastball and.... Let's hope he can stay healthy! Then, perhaps we got a bargain. If not, I suppose we got a poor man's Sale for a no risk short term contract?
  24. https://www.masslive.com/redsox/2021/01/andrew-benintendi-trade-rumors-solid-chance-red-sox-outfielder-remains-in-boston-has-shed-the-bulk-reports.html I honestly think this would be the best NON-MOVE this organization could make. Beni has tremendous up side, and I firmly believe he has the skills & talent to turn things around with a new / old approach at the plate. Go back to being a slimmed down, make good contact, & use the whole field go with the pitch approach. Assuming he gets back on track, our OF becomes a ++, withexcellent production. If he and the Sox are rolling, go with it. If the Sox falter, which is likely the case, you deal Beni on a come-back high, and you get an excellent return in a SOLID home grown guy, with major value. Another panic reactionary sell off of once top talent would be another aweful mistake for this lost its Bloom organization. I think Bloom can and will rebuild in a smart way, but selling low is a waste of resources, and a huge gamble. I project Beni having a big comeback. We know he has the goods, and I think it's clear he lost his focus. Bottom line... I think his value right now Is WELL BELOW his real value, and his inate talent is well worth the risk of keeping him too long. His trade value could not be lower at this point, compared to his talent and past production pre-2020.
  25. LOL :0 now that's just flat mean spirited
