  1. I hated to think this could happen, but given the s*** FACT that it was going to.... https://nesn.com/2020/02/what-to-know-about-reported-new-red-sox-alex-verdugo-brusdar-graterol/ I'm somewhat excited that this kid could be a very good OF'r. No Mookie! But, good. Couple of promising pitchers too.
  2. TOO FUNNY! Why do I always hear John Malkovitch saying, "Pay dis maan his money! Geev did maan his mouney!
  3. NEWS FLASH! E'Rod had his coming out party last year. He HAS definitively arrived in the bigs, in a big way!
  4. I do agree with this! Still, I'm not sure the case is clear that selling off now, as opposed to in the midst of a season where teams come upon extreme needs for a variety of players due to injury and the need to round out a roster to continue or make a serious run. I personally believe that the Red Sox will be in a better power trade position as the season grinds on, and holes in rosters are exposed by injury or manifest need? I dont see the need to panic trade, unless of course teams "make us offers that are SO GOOD, we simply can't refuse."
  5. BLOWING UP this team, which still has the firepower to make a legitimate run at a WS in 2020, just doesnt make sense to me. When are you going to have the likes of superstars, JDM, Mookie, Bogie, Devers, JBJ on D, Benny? a hopeful star one day??? all on 1 team? Get pitching??? & go for it. If the season just isn't there due to pitching? THEN.... You can have your fire sale before the trade deadline. THEY BLOW THIS TEAM UP??? We vote with our feet! Out!

    Kobe

This can NOT be true! I may not have liked him, but you had to respect his Top 10? ALL- TIME talent! Please let this be a BIG MISTAKE!
  8. Kobe Please let this be a BIG MISTAKE, or even a hoax!

    Kobe

I pray this is a hoax!
  10. I've already acknowledged that this was inexplicable? I totally understand the bewilderment over that, & I was similarly irritated by it then, & afterward. Still.... This was not a deal breaker for me. I was irritated with his response! It was NOT a baseball TEAM response! You always have your guy's back, & you NEVER throw your boys under the bus! He blew it there! No doubt about it! I'm still perplexed, & it made no sense. I have to guess there was something I'm not totally getting there, but nonetheless, it was not right. As I recall, there was major team chaos at that time? I may be off, but there were several shitstorms swirling? My other points still stand? He is, & always will be, a great RS dirtdog!
  11. Ah, now the standard is, "Pedey needs videos proving he's 'really working hard to earn the contract he would collect either way, because it's "possible" he might not be trying that hard? ok... yep. Makes perfect sense. String the f'er up! He's stealing from the Sox, & is likely a freeloader. Definitely sounds like Pedey!
  12. Look.... I agree! He broke the code! Guilty as charged. For WHATEVER REASON, Pedey did not agree with the standard mlb punishment of plunking a guy who took our guy out. I DON'T have a flippin clue why, but I'm not sure his head was in it at that time. He's hurt, & he's thinking it was just a bang bang play, & he just wants to focus on his knee & be done with it. He, for whatever REASON, doesn't want the standard retribution to defend his honor. He was wrong! It turns out to be CAREER ENDING. Maybe he knew it was BAD, & he just was hoping against hope it was no big deal, & didn't want any more focus on it. He F'd up, & wanted to play noble. Jesus f'n Christ! He f'd up, & still isn't playing the b!+ch. He keeps working his ass off trying to come back, & can't handle that it's over. Holy f'n christ! We're gonna BURY A f***ING Red Sox modern day legend for this? What the f*** is wrong with people? Holy s***! How many devastating injuries have you guys fought back from? I know I have way back in the day.... & its absolutely BRUTAL!!! When your body goes, & there's not a damned thing you can do about it? It is BEYOND GUT WRENCHING! Like nothing most could ever imagine. A TOTAL LOSS of the identity you worked, bled, Sweat, cried, & died over. He f'd up & didn't have his guy's backs, when they wanted retribution for him. Got it. For this, we destroy our own? WTF? Are some of you literally insane with your internet sports punditry? Good on ya! Too f***ing cool by 1/2!
  13. Total non sequitur.. . But good point head.
  14. Yeh. It certainly sounds like a few here are so badass that they think they could ever qualify to carry Pedey's bags? When he first started with the Sox, we all said he just couldn't cut it at the big show. He dirtdogged it right past that BRUTAL START, & proceeded to become Rookie of the year, helping us to win a WS. Another in 2013. Batting average .299 Hits 1,805 Home runs 140 Runs batted in 725 Stolen bases 138 Teams Boston Red Sox (2006–present) Career highlights and awards 4× All-Star (2008–2010, 2013) 2× World Series champion (2007, 2013) AL MVP (2008) AL Rookie of the Year (2007) 4× Gold Glove Award (2008, 2011, 2013, 2014) Silver Slugger Award (2008) You know the numbers. The "thanks, & don't let the door hit you on the arss" pissy attitude toward him is pretty STUNNING, but whatever. Such is the attitude of those who have never done, & never fought through a single injury to ever play a single game at anything. Pretty snarky s*** towards a guy who gave us so many LIFETIME memories. I don't know about you, but I can go back to '67 as a very young boy, and remember how I felt playing stickball on the streets of Allston & Brighton. Memories of Pedey & Company will hopefully last me another 30 years. This is the STUFF that brings back memories of a lifetime. I absolutely don't get the snark? Yeh! He made a few mistakes. He even inexplicably defended the ******** who ended his career. Whatever! The guy was one of the all-time great Red Sox dirtdogs.
  15. If Roenicke doesn't get the job, that could signal that the Sox have a problem. He seems to be the logical stand in decision, but if the Sox truly had an electronic sign stealing system, he would have known about it and participated. If he's hired as the manager, I would venture to guess that the Sox are in the clear.
  16. A ridiculous "ask" by whom? mlb history is replete with ridiculous ask & ridiculous takes. Is your point that the Sox should entertain "moderate" / average offers for an mvp tier 1++ everyday position player, who happens to be the only guy in the mlb to give Trott a run for his money?
  17. If Cora was clean on the Houston front, he would still be here! imo Moon is correct. Yes! The PC was all theater, but Cora had to go. MAYBE, just maybe.... Cora goes down nobly with the Houston ship, & spares the Sox any big loss? I guess we'll see? He will be missed! & yes. For that level of long term in-game tv monitoring cheating, HAS TO BE dealt with pretty harshly! THIS IS SO FAR ABOVE possibly taking a little air out of a football, that all the players were using. THIS makes deflategate look like child's play! I HOPE TO HELL the Sox are clean!
  18. Damnit Slash! I'm not a doctor, or much of a lawyer for that matter....
  19. Notin: "I do prefer the notion of “innocent until proven guilty” over “guilty upon first innuendo, and conspiracy if not otherwise proven”... Not to be political BUT, since the legal precepts of our Constitutional Legal System were turned on their head in the Kavenaugh Hearings, too many accept the false and dangerous, "guilty until you PROVE YOUR innocence," warped standard of justice. Since then, we have been hurtling toward some very dangerous standards in our legal and Constitutional system. Truly frightening to think that, "its the seriousness of the charges that matters most," which I thought we had gone away from after C. Thomas. With BK, we had the most OUTRAGEOUS 35 yr old, OBVIOUSLY manufactured tails of Train-R @?e , that were trumpeted and accepted as #metoo FACT, when there was absolutely ZERO evidence to support the charges. Even 100% refuted by the "life long best friend" of the accuser, who was said to be a direct witness? Didn't matter! Still guilty as HELL we were all told. Kavenaugh was savaged, & is still widely accepted to be THE WORST OF THE WORST preppy frat boy Train-R@?ist in history, and sits on our Supreme Court on a throne of lies, crime, moral depravity, & political corruption. He will eventually burn in Hell, we are assured by too many. It is STUNNING how far we have gone with our growing new standards of evidence and legal justice. The standards of "innocent until proven guilty" seems to be fading fast. Especially if you are a person in a position worthy of being targeted Like, the hated Red Sox or Patriots The Sox are innocent until PROVEN guilty! Cora? Well.... He's in a pickle. It doesn't look good. NICE GUY. GOOD MANAGER! but, his days in Houston are now in question. End of sermon
  20. Ok... I know this is extreme Polyannish thinking, but JDM stating unequivocally that the Sox are clean, without covering for Cora, gives me hope that the Sox just may be clean. Now, did they likely do everything possible to "legally steal signs," like every other team in mlb? Absolutely! But.... if nothing else, I like and respect JDM. He seems like a straight shooter. Until proven wrong, I'm going to assume the Sox may beat this team rap.
  21. The tide is turning in this offseason! Sox just signed a 30th round RHP, with "EXTREME" fly ball stuff in the ALE, & a mere 4.90 ERA. We're BACK BABY!
  22. No earth shattering confessions. That would certainly be best for the Sox. Just shut up & take what's coming from his "DIRTY" years with the Astros, & leave the Sox mostly out of it?
  23. You honestly believe the mlb will go out of their way, knowing the anti-snitching culture amongst players, to actually find out anonymously what is going on, and try to fix it, rather than sacrificing a few scapegoats & moving on? I think if Cora wants back in, they will make him talk? Idk? Maybe he does what the mlb players, owners, & managers want? Take his 1 - 2 year suspension, then come back. In the mean time, Cora goes to work fundraising for Puerto Rico, & does some good things. Comes back with a redemption story, & we all more on. idk?
  24. Unfortunately, I totally agree jung. They will lynch a few guys, & ride off onto that beautiful Cable Contracts pastures....
  25. Agreed.
