  1. They've been heavily scouting him as well. Next year is also the perfect time both from a team building, salary position, and FA availability point of view to go big on pitching. It's why I'm betting on it.
  2. Read my last approach to Moon, I prefer 1 year of Hernandez to 1 year of Verdugo. The dude might want to cash in on his only chance of a payday if he can have a bounce-back season. Otherwise if the price is reasonable I'd rather extend Verdugo. I also like the ideal of adding pitching with Dugo and banking on breaking even with Teoscar for a year.
  3. Teoscar Hernandez, at first glance he'd be a small downgrade from Verdugo, but marginally, slightly lower defense and OBP, a lot more power and he'd balance the lineup better from the right side. I like this scenario under the even that Verdugo can not be extended to something reasonable so perhaps you trade him with a prospect for a year of control for a guy like Clevinger, and Hernandez would be willing to take a 1 year deal to build his value back up after a down season. Then you go out and sign a Snell/Yama/Urias type to lead the rotation.
  4. They do,
  5. I'm sorry, it's 30 points higher. And no. I'm talking about the Hernandez who has a career OPS of .799 vs. Verdugos .769
  6. He'd also have a much higher WAR without the negative value on defense weighing him down.
  7. Hernandez has a career OPS almost 40 points higher than Verdugo despite the down season. I think you get something for Verdugo and wager Teoscar would sign a one-year deal to build some value back after a down year. A LA Adrian Beltre. I think the drop-off in defense is there but marginal, and your defense overall gets much better with Duran in left over Yoshida and Rafaeal in CF. This permutation also adds a starter to your rotation making for a stronger team.
  8. Well that is just the thing, his bat is probably the closest, but if it's reaching the majors it's likely because he is mashing and at another position. I have a feeling he moves off of catcher full/most of the time soon. I also don't think learning a new position would hold him back from AAA, I think they'd have little problem giving him a 1B mit and playing him in AAA.
  9. If Turner opts out, they could trade Verdugo for some pitching (an upgrade over Kluber) go out on the market pick up and Ace and sign Teoscar Hernandez for year, start Ceddanne. Sliding Yoshida to DH. Duran LF Story SS/2B Devers 3B Yoshida DH Teoscar Hernandez RF Tristan Casas 1B Luis Urias/FA 2B Ceddane Rafaela CF Connor Wong C Sign Yama to be your Ace and move 2 of Whitlock/Houck/Crawford to the pen for the season.
  10. Playing a very good game of hide and no seek on the IL.
  11. You mean 1.5 years. I'm not sure how I'd feel about giving him a contract at 40 years old. Would love for someone else to slid over to LF and let Yoshida DH after next year.
  12. I think Hickey has the best chance to start in AAA of the group, but if not he may be the first promotion. From a playing time perspective Mayer is closer but the numbers haven't been there, but if he comes back healthy and smashes next year I can see him as an early summer promtion.
  13. Now you're talking my language. I do anticipate, maybe hope, Henry and company are going to turn a few heads and make a big splash this offseason. Not Ohtani big.
  14. It’s much more probable then not the Sox to over the tax line. Most years they do, this year was a reset year.
  15. No thank you, I’d rather sign Yama, maybe Snell too.
  16. I've been predicting that we go for it in 2024 for a while. So confident about it I even changed my signature to stop gloating about my prediction of extending Devers this offseason.
  17. FWIW both Wacha and Eovaldi have been banged up lately, Nate has barely pitched in 6 weeks. Wacha hasn't pitched since July 1st. Eovaldi hasn't pitched since July 18th. If we resigned those two, we'd still be down two starters rigth now, and one less draft pick.
  18. I didn't research it in huge depth but at first glance here is what I see. JD Martinez is having a good year, but not better than his overall slash line in Boston. He was overall better here, he's just having a better year this year than he had last year. Nathan Eovaldi is having a career year, he's not just pitching better than he did here but everywhere. Wacha you could say the same, but to be fair, he also pitched better for us than he did most other seasons he ever had in the big leagues. Kike, was misused here, I really feel if he was in that super utility role his slash line might look better here. But then again, he may also be a change of scenery guy, because it's not like he never did here what he is doing there either.
  19. I really don't have the ambition to go back and read everything said between Old Red and Moon on this current spat version 784391.0 but I will say this. I've had various times throughout my life were I've had a whole season go by and barely watch any games at all, and some seasons were I had been 100% invested in the team. Everyone is different but in my particular case it had nothing to do with onfield success but rather where I was in life as a man. Sometimes life gets in the way, whether it's work, school, women, or other various topics we do not need to discuss. This point does bring back a fond memory. I watched or listened to on the radion EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. in 2013, and was so emotionally invested in that season that in my mind, in my world, it's the greatest Sox season of all time.
  20. Again, you added the word sinister, I was very specific to say it was neither good nor bad. Let's call a spade a spade here. There are a million other references you could have used, the fact that you didn't mean it in an emasculating way doesn't mean it is not. I will say this, after your last post I would believe that you did not mean it to be such. But it is, and it's something I've come to waken up on in society lately, and I'm merely pointing out that I refuse to do that to other men.....I hope others follow me.
  21. It can both be done at the same time, and that's Blooms plan. He just did a piss poor job of executing it. Luckily, they didn't screw up the farm half of the plan and the future is still bright. But we get it....losing sucks. That we all agree on.
  22. Thank you. And I'll tell you what, I didn't think you would answer my question directly, I thought you would continue to beat around the bush. I will give credit where credit is due and thank you for that. Even though we disagree a lot I sincerely thank you for that. Now. The view is a show, of alll women, primarily watch by women about topics with a female perspective. To say "the men of the view" is emasculating men. That is not an opinion it's a fact. To state a group of men do something that is associated with feminity in an argumentative manner is literally the definition of such. There's no rational explanation against that the same way you can not logically argue 2+2 does not equal 4. That is neither good nor bad, so I don't understand the need to deny it on your part. Here's a suggestion from one man to another, own it. If thats how you want to treat other people own it. I'm a dick. how many dicks in here openly say they are dick? I own that. I'm merely pointing out, that I refuse to take part in a cultural concept pushed by women to emasculate men during an argument. If you want to do that, that's fine, that's your prerogative. But we can not, nor will I let anyone say it's something that it is not. I refuse to emasculate another man to win and argument. I think the world would be a better place for men, and the mental health of men would be a lot better if more did the same.
  23. Thank you, now maybe you can show your fellow service member an ounce of respect and answer my yes or no question.
  24. Dude, don't beat around the bush and be all cyrptic. Are you talking about the TV show the view? It's simple question.
