    Refsnyder can be of some use off the bench. But he is really just another run of the mill type. Duran has the ability to be a dynamic and exciting player.

    I would not trade Duran unless the return was really good. I see him as a key contributor to this team , playing every day and batting leadoff.

    What do you all think about O.J. ? Personally, I think he was guilty. Great running back, but lacking in human decency.

    Breslow certainly can learn from Bloom's mistakes. And having a baseball background and a Boston background does not hurt. It is as plain as day where improvement is needed. Anyone can see it. It's a matter of signing the right guys to fill those weak areas.

    First world championship for the Rangers. Good for them. And Bochy adds to his legacy as one of the great managers.

    A new boss is going to want to make a splash, an immediate impact. That is normal procedure in any business. Theo did it very well. Dombrowski did it very well. Bloom did it , but unfortunately it was in a negative way. Breslow will certainly do it. And I do think that John Henry will be willing to pick up the tab this time.

    Years ago, just about every boy in the country had a stack of baseball cards. Today, there are collectors who are looking to make a profit, but the average kid is not that interested. For a number of reasons, the youth of America , with a few exceptions , is just not as into baseball as they were in the past. That has been the trend for a number of years. MLB is not too concerned because they are still making money

    The Diamondbacks finished 16 games behind the Dodgers , then swept them in the playoffs. Crapshoot.

    Mayer has yet to prove himself at the AA level. That's not to say he won't, just that he hasn't so far.

    Another impressive performance by N.D. Absolutely pummeled Pitt. Aggressive defense and a strong pass rush. And I have to say that Jason Garrett does a great job as color analyst. He has a good voice, is knowledgeable and does his homework. When we mention announcers it is usually in a negative way, but Garrett is really good.

    I think a fan buying a ticket to see a major league baseball game has a right to expect that the teams are trying their best to compete and to win. And not just the players, but the manager and front office as well.

    Is " tanking " defined as not necessarily trying to lose a game, but rather putting an inferior team on the field in hopes of losing?

    With all respect to the Rangers and Diamondbacks , this could draw one of the lowest TV ratings ever for a World Series.

    Craig Breslow is the smartest man in the world. And a decent pitcher as well. Happy days are here again.

    There are not many folks with a bigger sense of entitlement than baseball fans. When the team fails they will lash out angrily and denounce the players for letting them down. They take it very personally. It's like that in just about every city.

    We are certainly pushing the boundaries of just what is considered offensive on here .

    If they had Eovaldi and Senga instead of Kluber and Yoshida, would the Sox have made the playoffs ? How about Schwarber instead of Story ?

    It is kind of nice to watch the playoffs and not care very much who wins. Just relax and enjoy the games.
