Any John Henry sightings lately? The man is more reclusive than ever.

The Sox went from 78 wins and last place in 2015 to 93 wins and first place in 2016. Sadly, that accomplishment included tearing up and " decimating " the back 40. And we still have not dried all the tears from that tragedy.

Could it be that Breslow just doesn't think that Montgomery is all that good? Could he be right in thinking that?

Having a series of last place teams so you can get high draft picks and " improve the farm" is not a plan too many fans are okay with. We don't want to imitate Tampa Bay or Baltimore. We had a winning system before Bloom. Why change it? Strictly to save money. All this while the Sox are one of the most valuable franchises in MLB. Be like the Rays or Orioles? Give me a break.

Absolutely. Just saying that it's not the only way. A lot of things go into winning baseball. And the willingness to spend money or prospects for talent is certainly one of them. And the ability to judge talent is another. And those things have been missing lately. It would be ideal to have a great rotation. No doubt about that.

Wrong again ? Darn it. I'm just going to have to go back to the drawing board and try harder. You guys on here are very brilliant with your analysis. " We need starting pitching !!!". It is hard for me to keep pace.

It's a team sport. Numerous components. Starting pitching. Bullpen. Hitting. Defense. Base running. Strategy. Motivation. Luck. Health. They all play a part. All you have to do is score one more run than your opponent. Don't get obsessive that the only way to succeed is by getting another starting pitcher ,or even two more starters.

Pivetta made some additions to his pitching repertoire. That could be the reason for his improvement, more so than the move to the bullpen. He will almost certainly be in the rotation. Whitlock supposedly hit the gym this winter and has bulked up considerably. The idea being that this will help him avoid the injuries and maybe add a little velocity as well.

There could be legitimate reasons for trading Jansen now or later. But to just say, " We could throw in Jansen, too, " seems disrespectful. Like he is just another pawn in this chess game. Just another jabroni. Just another throw in.

Hope Kenley Jansen doesn't read TalkSox. He has had an illustrious career. One of the all time top closers. Now it's " We could throw in Jansen , too."

All the talk of boycotting the team will soon fade away. Pitchers and catchers will report. We will become hopeful once again. It's in our blood. There's new grass on the field. We are hooked. Put me in coach. We are Sox addicts.

When John Henry bought the Red Sox, he was determined to compete with the Yankees, to beat the Yankees. Now, he doesn't seem to care.

Hader is ,without question , one of the best ( if not THE best) closers in the game today.

As I mentioned earlier, I have a number of family members and friends who moved to Florida from up north. They are all glad they did it and have no desire to move back . Apparently, they are lacking in brains, values, virtue, moral character and tolerance . But they are happy. That counts for a lot.

That is impressive. I haven't been to 47 states, but if I had been, I would definitely want to visit those last three, if for no other reason than to hit for the cycle, run the table , so to speak.

Yes. Social Security Disability Insurance is a somewhat different program than regular Social Security. But I absolutely agree that young disabled women can definitely get pregnant. No argument there.

That is mildly redundant. If you are on Social Security, you are not likely to be getting pregnant.

Sports fans in general are an entitled, demanding, vindictive and borderline psychotic bunch, with severe mood swings, who will line the streets for a parade, but demand their pound of flesh as soon as things go wrong. Sox fans are no exception. The latest example is Philadelphia Eagles fans, who in a matter of weeks, have gone from " Fly, Birds Fly," to demanding the heads of coaches and players on a platter.

Apparently , John Henry will be a no-show at the Winter Weekend. He has a " scheduling conflict ". Lol
