  1. Must be a stressful time for the players , especially those with families. You don't know where you are going to be in a week or less.
  2. Vazquez is fine. Things are going good and folks are looking for things to worry about. Normal situation.
  3. Remember , the game is at 4:00 today. Not 7:00.
  4. Everyone is looking to add pitching help . But we are not going to get an in demand arm without giving up more than I think we are willing to. Maybe we can get lucky and get an Eovaldi for a ham and egger like Beeks. But that doesn't happen every day. With the additions of Sale and Houck , I think we are in good enough shape as it is. I do think Rizzo would be a great move , but the price is probably too high. Maybe just go with what we have. It seems to be working.
  5. Everything is coming up roses right now. And the Yankees are dejected , demoralized and defeated. Pour it on. Sweep them away.
  6. Something to think about as we approach the 2/3 mark of the season: Given last year's abbreviated season and this year's full schedule, will we see some guys start to run low on fuel? Especially the over thirty bunch. And would a couple of days off here and there help ?
  7. Don't be disrespectful to " Big Sally ". Not good for you.
  8. It 's important that the owners avoid the self imposed " Luxury Tax." They need to save money in case they want to build a rocket and join the billionaire boy's club in space. And that's okay. But how about some lower prices for tickets, concessions and merchandise? Is that asking for too much?
  9. Not for nothing , but the " Manfred Man " on second base to start an extra inning is an absolute abomination and a travesty. Get rid of it.
  10. They could at least waited until he stopped shaking and gagging. But what about the manager who thought he was the best option to close ?
  11. With Rizzo , we are talking about adding a guy who can help down the stretch run. Maybe help to win it all. He has those credentials. As stated before, I don't know what it would take to get him. If the price is too high , it's too high. We will still have a good chance at the gold.
  12. Maxie , You are being extremely truculent lately. Even by your usual standards. " Closing, shmosing " is cute though. You get a point for that.
  13. Rizzo is a gold glove first baseman who could save a lot of infield errors. Not having a good year at bat , but certainly capable of turning that around. Not sure what it would take to get him. Meanwhile, we are doing okay. No need to rush into anything.
  14. The season in general and the way it has gone for the Sox and the Yanks.
  15. Yeah , but those count too. When you're hot , you're hot. And I'll say it again: Closin' ain't easy.
  16. Absolutely . I think it is a very real possibility , if not a probability . Obviously , Cole stands in the way. But we have the Yanks on the brink .
  17. Closing ain't easy. It is one of the highest pressure , most stressful things in sports . Everything is on your shoulders and all eyes are on you. Chad Green has good stuff , but the situation was too big for him last night. And you almost had to feel sorry for that kid , Kriske in the 10th. He was completely overwhelmed and wanted to be anywhere in the world but on that mound. What was Boone thinking ? We should appreciate Matt Barnes and how well he has taken to that role. Sox sweep the Yanks away.
  18. Houck looks like the real deal. He belongs in the rotation. Along with Sale , he will really help to solidify things.
  19. Cruz to the Rays.. Will the Sox counter by making a move for Rizzo?
  20. The call ups have added a spark of energy and enthusiasm, but the talent level will catch up to them. The Sox will pummel the Yanks this weekend and put an end to any hopes they are clinging to. I really don't have any doubts about that.
  21. Okay. I was looking for a rhyme with Bambino.
  22. The Yanks are having a lot of bad luck this season. Almost as if there is some sort of a curse on them . " The Curse of the Ottavino."
  23. If you don't want to spend or give up prospects, you are probably not going to make a major acquisition. The good news is we may not need a major acquisition to compete for the title. Just add Sale and perhaps Houck to the rotation, and pick up a good lefty ( Chafin ? ) for the pen.
  24. " Bronx brothel " . I like that. Kind of catchy.
