The Kimbrel trade is tricky, because you need a consistent closer. No good closer ,you just won't be able mix and match all year. I'll trade for an elite closer. If we just gave Miller an extra mill over the four year contact he got from NY we save three prospects. We didn't so now you have the trade market. I don't think Kimbrel is the problem here. I am more concerned with David Price getting 31M a year and might need TJS when all is said and done. I hope I'm wrong.

Grady Little , might disagree with you. He left Pedro in there because he didn't trust the pen, even though it was pitching good at the time. He still didn't trust it. It cost him his job. Next year Mr. Faulke.... End of curse

Farrell said in the post game he left Wright out there, because he was afraid Maddon might have used pinch hitters and the match- up would not favor them. He brought up Baez. He might have PH for Jay.... NESN post game

Scott should have faced Jay. He waited one batter late. Scott had no wiggle room. Plus not calling strike three on Bryant was a killer.

Not getting off topic because it is the Red Sox game thread. That comeback by NY was great, but don't forget Britten wasn't closing due 2 being on the DL. He's a jerk for NMOB with Pedy , but an elite closer. Both BAL/ NY are playing good ball. 14-7 I know. I get it.

You can't get as much as you think. It not about a trade clause , about 90% of MLB players wave it for a chance 2 win. It is about the return. A bad teammate is a different story entirely. So you want Hernandez or Holt replacing him. Plus Hernandez and Holt are about a tick above average in the field... I'm more concern about the clubhouse and leadership, as of his loss of his own skill.

The real concern is the Power in this line up from everybody. Not just them two. When you go through spells like this , IMO you might think of hit n runs and small ball. That might be the way until the slump breaks out... When you lose Ortiz, and don't replace him the right way, they will have a hole in that spot. If the royals fall out of it maybe they have some players they might move. I just wouldn't move any more prospects. DD made his bed, he will lay in it as well. Also instead of releasing Panda , they gave him the job , he has no range at 3rd. They hoped for a bounce back and he's DL-ED. They gave him a chance, they are stuck. Just nobody looking at dealing or dumping unless you give up more prospects. No Power at 1st and 3rd. That might change with Moreland, not with the third base spot. They will hit not just like your modern sox.
