  1. Looking like the move of the game at this point.
  2. Miller has already thrown around 20 pitches. It might make a difference down the line.
  3. Lineup ALDS GAME 1 Pedroia 2B Holt 3B Ortiz DH Betts RF Ramirez 1B Bogaerts SS Bradley CF Leon C Benintendi LF
  4. Playoff Roster... Pitchers.... Barnes, Buchholz, Kelly, Kimbrel, Pomeranz, Porcello, Price, Rodriguez, Ross , Uehara, Ziegler Catchers... Leon, Vazquez I F's... Bogaerts, Hernandez, Hill, Holt, Ortiz, Pedroia, Ramirez, Shaw, OF's ... Benintendi, Betts, Bradley, Young
  5. What about the Red Sox getting SD 1st rd pick this year or next. MLB can decide that on the merit of their own choosing. The 'box in' theory will not apply for a punishment of that nature.
  6. Depends on how you look at it. If the Red Sox hitters hit a couple of balls to the LF warning track those are doubles in Fenway. Caught there. I get it. In the end it does mean nothing. Plus Cleveland has over 53 wins at home. They play good there.
  7. Case in point. If the sox tied that game yesterday in the 9th. Would go into the 10th tied, guess who was coming out for the top of the 10th. Koji? Kimbrel? You got it. TAZ. They tried for the win. But not all out winning. Plus with KC laying down and the Red Sox having to face HAPP and Sanchez back2back it's tough. IMO
  8. I'm not taking sides Slash. But if they won say 15,16,17 in a row, you might have said they peeked way2soon. The NYY and TORONTO played hard all the way through. The Jays needed them games real bad. The Yankees played hard as well. The only thing that bugged me this week was Kimbrel. I know he could do better. I think he will.
  9. With Bogaerts playing the 157 was due with Holt being concussed and them not wanting to give Hernandez a shot. But in the big picture it was more do with Holt being injured. He couldn't play the super sub role. I think XB would've had a little more time off. JBJ's 155 was due to Young being out and not trusting Brentz or Rusney.. with good reason... The thing that surprised me was Pedroia. I didn't think he could hold up for over 150. I'm glad he did.
  10. Lineup... Pedroia 2B Holt 3B Betts RF Ortiz DH Ramirez 1B Bogaerts SS Bradley CF Leon C Benintendi LF
  11. I agree with letting Kimbrel pitch the 9th, even though a tie game but at home. I have no problem with it. On the road no go. Just look at the stats when he comes in when the game is tied. He is starting to be a concern. I don't care if he strikes out the side on Sunday. I don't know if it's mechanical or something. But it needs to be fixed. I don't expect him to be perfect but I'm not looking for that. I do think he will be fine..... Proceed with caution....
  12. This is a tough call. I would not go with Trout. He's a great player no doubt. His team is not good. I'm sorry , his team is not even close to 500. If Betts or Ortiz weren't having monster years and the Red Sox out of contention, we have a different story. That's not the case. So I have to choose between Ortiz/ Betts. I first want to say PAPI is having a GREAT year. No second guessing that. He might even win it. If he did I would understand. I'm not going into all the stats we already know most of them. I'm picking Betts. Just for the reason some of you people have said. He does it all. HIT, RUN, POWER, DEFENSE, and so on. Mookie has played in most of the games. That has to mean something. He never begged for a day off. He went from batting leadoff for most of the year. Was hitting 3 rd. Not an easy adjustment. Has been flipped- flopped again. Never complained. He is friendly with the media and writers. I'm sorry to say, that's huge. The only problem and I agree with everybody else is...... Ortiz/ Betts can split the vote and hand it over to another player who has the numbers but shouldn't win it. IMO
  13. Lineup.... Pedroia 2B Bogaerts SS Ortiz DH Betts RF Ramirez 1B Young LF Bradley CF Hill 3B Vasquez C
  14. Hill 3B Benintendi LF Bogaerts SS Ortiz DH Young RF Bradley CF Hanigan C Shaw 1B Marrero 2B
  15. I like Pomeranz. They needed to get someone in that rotation. The up and down Erod and Buchholz at the time forced it. But if your trading your number1 pitching prospect in your farm system, your going up one more level than Pomeranz. Let's just say in the off season you could have added him in a deal for Chris Sale or somebody like that. Jmo. But everything I'm saying is Monday morning quarterbacking. It's a tough call one way or another.
  16. The funny part in all of this, is Farrell had said this week don't be surprised , if Kimbrel is used to get key outs in the 7 th inning. He might not be the striaght closer in the playoffs. I'm dead serious. It was in the Boston Herald this week. I was thinking it was stupid to even think about something like that. The problem now it could be debatable. He had a bad night. Let's hope that's all it was. They do have Ziegler and Koji to close. IMO I would let Kimbrel close.
  17. That is correct. But one good half of Buchholz is worth the 13M. With injuries in your starting rotation that you never know. The FA market is thin. He might be a good option for that price. It's just one year money.
  18. They won the AL East. That's all that matters. The champagne feels good either way. ENJOY BOSTON RED SOX!!!
  19. Lineup.... Pedroia 2B Bogaerts SS Ortiz DH Betts RF Ramirez 1B Bradley CF Holt 3B Benintendi LF Leon C
  20. Most of the everyday lineup is our farm prospects. It has worked out well.
  21. I was one that was on Porcello last year. I didn't like contract he was given.. But I can understand the thinking. I saw with the stats and eye test IMO a 15-10 High 3/Low 4 ERA pitcher. I was wrong. So moving right along, Price was brought here to be the ACE. That is why he was paid over north of 30M per year with a 3 year opt out if he chooses. He hasn't pitched good in pressure games. I wanted them to sign him and still like the deal. He's a very good pitcher not great. What he could do next year means nothing now. I'm not talking about winning streaks, or Farrell. Spud, I hate when people or fans say great player or great pitcher, that word is thrown around a lot. He wasn't good last night. I can't blame the right field Yankee porch on everything. Don't forget they saved him another run when Sanchez hit into the DP in the 6th. Of course I want him to start. No doubt. I just have questions like everybody else. This is the time of year the great ones put everything on lockdown. The meaning: shut down innings.
  22. If the same result happens today like yesterday, with Owens now pitching Thursday you may feel different with your sense of urgency. I know your kidding around but they need to win one ASAP.
  23. Price hasn't pitched good against the NYY. He's given up double digit hits in three of them. I thought somebody said on one of the network's something like 22 IP 35 H, that's bad pitching. No shut down inning, when the team needed it the most.
  24. Lineup... Pedroia 2B Bogaerts SS Ortiz DH Betts RF Ramirez 1B Holt 3B Bradley CF Leon C Benintendi LF
  25. #2 that's all I know
