  1. All Batters that use the entire field, slow down their swings, (Wait on the ball), are great hitters.
  2. Do that in Fenway JBJ you'll hit .300.
  3. That's a sweet swing.
  4. Toronto is tied in all of the Majors with the lowest BA. .224 with SF. Sale should be dominating against these guys. Just hope it was an off day. Twins are leading the Majors in BA, with a .272 BA as a team. ERod did alright. Especially on the road.
  5. Just hope a Pitcher don't gets killed.
  6. Agree. Your getting many balls hit close to the 500 ft. mark this year. Maybe 1 a year, is about right. I think last 2 Sanchez hit were 480 and 481. He's got tremendous power, but come on. When I see balls hit to Center, that are not hit good, but keep carrying, something is not right. Many look like they have not gotten it fully. Carrying over Center Field. Vazquez has pull power, that one was slugger like. Over Right Center BP. Opposite Field HR's really tell what real Power a batter has. Games move so slow, they have to make it exciting. Take the win, it would have been worse losing, with the Yanks winning. Cant do that while they play the Astros, and we play a bad team.
  7. Looking at a guy like Sean Doolittle.
  8. No. Yanks wont have to give up Torres, they are taking on Salary, Yanks will never do that anyway. They have Andujar, Frazier other they can move. For the Nationals, the 3rd baseman Rendon is a FA after this season, so they can flip him too, if they want more salary relief, this year and more Prospects, if they want to build. Rendon would be a nice addition to a contender this year, even though he will be a rental.
  9. Yanks need an shut down Ace, not these half-ass Pitchers. If they get Scherzer we in trouble.
  10. Sox have to get the lead out right now. There is still time. Have to take advantage of playing Toronto. Need to play like Champions.
  11. Looking at Darwinzon Hernandez start the other day in Pawtucket, they did not return him to Portland, so he got promoted. He went 5 innings, with just 2 hits, and 7 walks. He better get his control down. Wont make it in the Majors. Hitters there way better, and they will just wait him out, and get a hitters count, to get him. Great arm, with no control, wont work in the Majors.
  12. Sportstrac has one salary, and Baseball Reference has another. Also see another thing after 2019 he can block any trade. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/washington-nationals/max-scherzer-5166/
  13. Nationals are 3.5 out of last Wildcard. So that one is on hold I would think at the moment. If he does go, it will be a salary dump anyway. Who the hell would pay anybody 42 million a year, in any sport. Even if some of it is deferred. Looking at his salary towards the Luxury Tax it is, 28,689,376. With a half a year gone Yanks can easily go for him, if Nationals want to dump salary. Nationals are still on the hook for signing bonus, and deferred payments.
  14. Yanks play the Astros, while we play Toronto, Yanks won last night, but Astros are capable of taking next 3. Beat Toronto, and gain 3 games easy. Even a split you gain 2 games, in a couple of days. Its who the other team is playing is when you take advantage of playing these bad teams. Losing to Toronto, is not good while these 2 teams are playing each other.
  15. The Orioles are the worst team in all of baseball, and Toronto is 3rd worst, as far as winning percentage. My feeling is the top 3 teams in our division that does not take advantage of playing these bums, might be the difference in our division.
  16. Thornburg getting murdered down at Pawtucket. Every game he got into since he was sent there.
  17. Then the Sox are crazy not resigning him then with those numbers. So you think they wont make the Play-offs? I agree the Trade had to made at that point. Remember if it wasn't for a great Bennintendi catch, Kimbrel was close to being a Goat in last years Play-offs.
  18. Logan Allen had a nice debut last night, beat the Brewers 7 innings, 3 hits, 0 runs.
  19. If we won 3-2 or 2-1, with the Sox going 1-13 with RISP, would you be mad? After you get the lead, the important thing is to hold it, and win it. Especially later in game and Extra innings. Early in game I understand it's tough. Of course you want more runs, common sense, but after lead, the important thing is to hold it. At least once out of 2 times.
  20. EE avg. 46 games a season at 1st base, there is a 162 game season. EE is a DH, that's it. Most he ever started was 78 games at 1st base that was in 2014. When he was 31 years old.
  21. Cant Trade Porcello until you see how Eovaldi's arm is holding out. Might not make it through his 1st start.
  22. Most important game stat, that and 2 out with RISP. But the Sox had the lead...Twice, after Price was gone.
  23. Sox are facing a good Pitcher today, especially at home, they needed last nights game. Huge win today if they can forget and move on quickly. Got to take 2 out of three in Minny.
  24. What you cant do is give the tying HR up to the 1st Batter, in the 13th, to tie the game. 1st batter. After you get the lead. That hurt. Sometimes, have to give the other Pitchers credit too. Hard to do, but it happens. I said in game thread ticking time bomb, with this BP against a Home Run hitting team. Walks and HR's kill Relievers, games are usually close anyway when they come in. Usually that 1 hit, is the difference.
  25. Funny thing after this winning streak, we only gained 1 game in the loss column to the Yanks. Went from 9 to 8.
