  1. Notice when he started to go to Left Field more, he started to hit again. It's when he pulls, and only pulls the ball, he'll have a problem. He goes the other way, he'll be fine. The pitches will come when he can pull the ball.
  2. The way it lines up when we face the White Sox, we will be seeing Giolito against Sale. That ought to be a doozy. In his last 30 days Giolito's ERA is 1.05. He's been on a tear. That team is about 1 year away from being very strong. Yanks got their hands full against them, and so will we. Have to win in Baltimore. So far this year the Yanks are 1-4 against them.
  3. Sox are facing a pretty good Lefty on Sunday, that kid is no slouch, John Means. He's kept that crap team in every game. Team is 5-5 when he pitches. For that team that's an Ace.
  4. Keep an eye out on the Red Sox DSL 2 team, Right Fielder, Bryan Gonzalez, 17 year old, in 11 games that been played there he has 5 HRS, with a .341 AVG. Early I understand, but good to see if he keeps going this way. He'll be 18 in Sept. This is his 1st year, in organized ball.
  5. Ahead in the Count .260 and a .913 for you OPS folks. Behind in the Count, .119 BA and a .306 OPS. RISP .214 BA and .667 OPS. Runs baby driving them in and scoring them most important thing in baseball. And preventing them.
  6. Agree. FA works if your developing your Minors, so they can take over at a position, after the FA contract is done. This way it starts bringing down the cost. Otherwise you just keep staying in the same circle of buying talent. FA should be a stop gap, until your Minor Leaguers can take over the position your paying be big bucks for. By the time a you get the majority of FA's now, after arbitration, they have very few good years left in them. Usually very close to 30 years old.
  7. Against Lefties this year Ockimey has a .098 BA. This the stat that to me is way more important than OPS. Its when your hitting, not the type of hit your getting. With RISP Ockimey is hitting .130. Swinging for the fences is nice, but not helping team win, by making contact. Or at least good contact. .852 OPS with a Batting Avg. of .202, and because of that is not driving in runs. Don't lose your focus that the aim in every game is do whatever it takes to help team win. Style points don't matter.
  8. Opponents get better, everywhere. Probably big problem with the Red Sox, starting with the Owners, and goes downhill from there. Everybody thinks nobody improves, and try to better then the Champs. The Champs should have realized that, you can stay the same, the Opponents wont. They try to get better. Yanks and Rays saw first hand last year, it takes a lot to be a Champion. At this point they are proving it. You must stay hungry to win this, or win even a single game. They were last year, unfortunately at this point, this Sox team isn't. Lazy is a bad thing.
  9. I don't know if many here watched the Play-offs, but watching the Blues against Dallas, and San Jose, and us. They are too comfortable on the Road. WE CANT HAVE THIS! Must be relentless, get that D tired. Shoot the Damn Puck, and don't stop. Getting the lead will huge in this game.
  10. Good point by Sean McAdam, after tonight, they will be the only ticket in town. Bruins have bought the Sox some cover, in a few days, the whole town will be on them.
  11. Games I've seen, or heard, Sox have has all different guys pitching the 7, 8, 9th. I that's not the case then I'm sorry. If Cora thinks because of score and importance of the inning is important, its not working. I feel if a Ballplayer goes to a ballpark, and knows his role, his mindset is different. He know exactly what needs to be done. He gets a routine, he knows how to warm-up, and maybe the batters he's facing, way ahead of time. What was it, doing the same thing and expecting different results... Adjustment have to be made quick, and have to see if they work out before its too late. Pretty soon only 90 games left.
  12. Last 7 games for Barnes he has 8.53 ERA Last 15 games , 5.02 ERA Last 30 games 3.76 ERA. 26 innings with 19 hits, and 11 BB's. 26 innings with 30 base runners.
  13. You know Workman in last 30 games, Workman has pitched 27.1 innings, and has given up only 8 hits. Man, that sounds like Closer stuff to me. Pretty obvious to me. What you think about that Bellhorn?
  14. I still would like to know, who came up with the Musical chairs thoughts on the Bullpen. What's the reasoning? Why he stopped giving defined roles? Me, I'm going with Workman 9th, Barnes 8th, Brasier or whoever for the 7th, that's the inning if you want to play around with I'm OK. See who's consistent. For almost 70 games Cora's idea isn't working, might be time to change your thinking, before its too late.
  15. Sox have given up 317 runs this year, Tampa just 210 runs. One thing is true, Pitching and Defense travels. Don't matter home or on the road if you have this. Earl Weaver, I think he said, nothing on the Field matters, except that little lump of dirt in the middle of the diamond.
  16. Just not playing in sync at this point, you don't panic yet. July Tradeline, is time to see what you can get. Still time, to make a run at the division. Relax, patience, take it easy.
  17. Agree, Texas Pitching stinks, you cant go all season with bad Pitching. On the Road not a good team either. That's where pitching shows up.
  18. Especially when your playing a team that's head to head with you for that Wildcard spot. They have a 1game lead at this point.
  19. Texas pitching stinks, should be able to score runs, but what I find interesting is the Rangers are the best team in the Majors with hitting with RISP, so preventing runs is important. Pitching and Defense does this.
  20. Cora has to let last year go. Only Coach I ever heard this from. You going to keep living off a great year, that's in the past.
  21. 2nd and 3rd No Outs, still cant get over that. 3 times we swing and miss. Just forgot the fundamentals. Situational hitting has been forgotten to them.
  22. Good thing both HRS are Solo shots, still in this.
  23. Hernandez did what you should do, make good contact, your goal is to drive in the run. Especially with 2 outs.
