    JD is noted to go to Right Field, including his Power, he's not doing it this year. Looks to me like he's compensating for something. He's more pull happy this year, that's not his swing.

    I remember after Trade from Detroit, he had a unreal 2nd half, 2 years ago. He's capable of going on a very good tear, for a long period. Maybe some rest will do him good at AS Break. London trip will give him some rest too, except for the flight. There is nothing worse then a Back. Nothing. If he's playing through that pain, I would cut him some slack.

    Sox have to go 56-25 in the 2nd half to win 100.

    Wonder what happens if both games Yanks and Sox are rained out tonight? Double header tomorrow? After looking at Radar I think they get them both in.

    According to the stat games are being lost in the 8th inning too. Not just blown saves. But hey, if you feel this BP is OK, we should not have a problem. All I'm saying against the Good teams I expect a dogfight, against the weak ones, its imperative you shut the door.

    I'm sure the Yanks and Rays have had the same thing happen to them. You need to look at losing the games with a lead.

    This tells me Kimbrel and maybe even Kelly was important during the season, to close the door, especially against the bad teams. In which there are many.

    Sure are if undefeated they would be in 1st place by about 5 games. Record would be 54-23. My bad, old ha record would be 50-30, Yanks would be 50-28.

    1st half over after Tuesday nights game. Sox 12-2 in ERod's last 14 starts.

    Rays are 43-0 after the 7th inning, with a lead. Yanks 42-1 after the 7th inning. Sox are 34-7 after the 7th inning.

    I read the other day the Owner of the Yankees and Red Sox got drunk one evening, and actually did Trade Williams for DiMaggio, until they sobered up the next morning. Reason DiMaggio for Left Field Wall, and Williams for short right Porch in Yankee Stadium.

    You can dissect a Starter, a lot better then a Reliever. Number of Pitches, times through the line-up, you have some kind of gaging on a Starter then a Reliever. Very few stats on any Starter after 7, your in uncharted territory. Feel for the game, good communication with Catcher, and Pitching Coach, the old fashion way. Easier to use Computer. Maybe good, maybe bad. Reliever needs to do one thing mainly, throw strikes. And try to make them unhittable.

    In all games played yesterday not 1 starter went past 7 innings. 7 went 7 innings, in 16 games, 32 starters, only 7 made it through the 7th. 7 is the new 9 for Starters. Of course there are variables in this, mostly due to the score.

    100 pitch count has changed the dynamics of the game. I bet 90% of the starters have a hard time getting into the 8th, never mind the 9th. Baseball has turned into a BP game, a lot earlier now.

    Sox are going to have play their best baseball to beat the White Sox. Even a better team then the Blue Jays.

    Thornburg not doing too good on rehab in Pawtucket. 15.43 ERA, 4 innings, 6 hits, 8 runs, 2 HRS. Hasn't pitched in 4 days. Didn't mention 7 BB's.
