  1. Sale says that if everyone else won't help me I'll help myself!
  2. 10 K's for Sale now, and 3 of them named Daniel Nava. Say.... it IS good to see him still playing! LOL
  3. It's good to see Daniel Nava still playing, even if it's for a weak team.
  4. Ya... I was being somewhat facetious. But Leon DOES run like a catcher! LOL
  5. Please don't cloud statistics with logic.
  6. The more things change the more they remain the same. Unfortunately.
  7. Corrected version: Has Butterfield forgotten that Leon runs like a catcher?
  8. Anyone who wants to contribute to the game thread better show up pretty soon. We're ~1:20 into the game and heading into the 6th!
  9. Has Leon forgotten that he runs like a catcher?
  10. Think of the advantages... no obnoxious Southwest singing commercials, no "Go Red Sox" NESN commercials, and I don't listen to the Sunday Night announcers on ESPN. Why haven't I done this before????
  11. OMG...Sunday night baseball again! :-( I'm going to try something new on Sunday night. I'll be watching on NESN and listening to Neverett & O'B on the radio.
  12. ..and this is why statistics aren't as important as most people think they are.
  13. Isn't being "mentally tough" a lot like being "clutch"?
  14. I have no problems with JBJ and I never did. It's nice to see that people are now seeing what he brings to the game defensively..... now that his offense has improved. Hmmm... where were these people before?
  15. I've flown on USSCARE too many times. I find their personnel to be indifferent almost to the point of being rude and in my experience they seem to have trouble meeting their departure and arrival times. I want a lot of bourbon when I fly with them.
  16. My point in mentioning trading Devers was that if we trade for a longer term 3B option we don't have a place for him while a rebuilding team with a decent 3B may want Devers as a part of the rebuilding process. Win/win. I'd like to see Sandoval get another chance even though I don't see him ever being worth more than 1/2 of his contract, but there's a catch to it. I know this is another thing I keep harping on, but with playoff spots often decided by one or two games every single loss lessens the chances of making the playoffs. So how many losses are we willing to sustain due to his poor fielding before we give up on him?
  17. And we thought in March that our rotation was set and the pen would be the problem. How quickly things change.
  18. I see three options. One is to go cheap, move Devers to the parent club ASAP and hope for the best. #2 is to hedge the bets and try to get someone better than we have at 3B but relatively cheaply and wait another year (+?) while we wait for Devers to mature. Or #3 is to 'go whole hog'. - Trade Devers and some lesser position players for a 3B who will be with the team into the future. I'm not sure which of those I'd take. They each have something to be said for and against them. And of course there's always the 4th option of sitting where we are. After all, this team is playing at nearly a .700 clip for the past 20+ games. I dunno. That's why I'm sitting here and not in DD's chair I guess.
  19. This seems to be the way of baseball, unfortunately. (IMO here..) Too many people aren't here for the game, they're here for the SHOW. My first exposure to that was at Jacobs Field in Cleveland 20 years ago when I went there for a Sox/Guardians game and they started playing rock music between innings.{"What?? They're playing f***ing music? This is a baseball game, not a concert!!"}. And things have gone downhill from there. Now people don't go to the game for the game, they go for the event. IMO it's pretty sad when we now have people in mustard, relish, and ketchup costumes running around on the field between innings. UGH.
  20. OK Mitch. I don't want to see any f***ing DP balls here!
  21. Wow. Three hard-hit balls in the extra innings of two consecutive games. If I didn't know better I might think Pedey is "clutch".
  22. Jeez TW, you're a tough sell. :-) I thought it was a great play, especially on Hembree's part to find the bag.
