  1. Well they’ll be paying off Gerrit Cole for the same money while watching him pitch like Garrett Richards…
  2. Kike to SS as a stopgap? Then Kiermaier for CF and Judge in RF…
  3. Ok let’s say it comes down to that. Judge fills multiple needs for the Sox, as he does for any team. He could easily play RF at Fenway. He’s probably looking for, at minimum 10 years $320mill. Certainly the first few seasons should be worth it, even if he can’t replicate his 2022. But given his age (30) and injury history, how many years would he need to be close to his 2021 self to justify it? And how many years of unproductive Judge can any team expect at the end of the deal?
  4. Those 4 games are his reality. The other 158 games are the outlier…
  5. That does include Bogaerts and his $20mill…
  6. Why would the Sox spend $10mill to get Wil Myers and his .804 OPS vs LHP when Dalbec and his .855 OPS vs LHP are already on board at league minimum?
  7. I like that OF. But I doubt the Sox sign Nimmo if he gets a QO, as it would cost then two draft picks. In which case, who’s Plan B?
  8. Quintana over both. But if they just sign Bassitt, that’s a good start. The Sox probably (against my wishes) move Whitlock to the rotation with Pivetta, Sale and Bello. And Paxton might exercise his $4mil player option and get in his 30-40 IP, too…
  9. Am I supposed to be impressed that full time starter Mike Stanley accrued more fWAR than fourth OF Refsnyder? Also why are we comparing the two? Is 59yo Mike Stanley a candidate for a Sox bench role?
  10. If you like Kluber’s 5.0 fWAR since 2019, what about Jose Quintana and his 8.1 fWAR in that same timeframe? Also he’s 3 years younger, coming off a better season, and didn’t move to the Boston area and then still snub the Red Sox for the Yankees…
  11. The best thing Mike Stanley was get traded for Tony Armas Jr, who in turn became part of a much, much better trade…
  12. For $1.2mill, the Sox can bring back Refsnyder …
  13. But only one of them was soiled by pinstripes…
  14. I think Sale and Bello probably occupy one rotation spot. Someone has to be demoted for both games Sale pitches next year…
  15. So he’s a less versatile but more expensive Dalbec?
  16. He also said the 2018 Sox would not compete in the AL East. (I suppose one could argue that the 2018 Sox really did not find the ALE all that competitive.)
  17. Fulmer, Montero, Bogaerts, Wacha, Bassitt. I’m ok with Benintendi and Mancini. No on Myers. (Where is Myers playing in your proposal?) I do wonder if - against my wishes - the Sox don’t just use Hosmer and Dalbec in a DH platoon…
  18. How did he outmanage him in game 5? By remembering Gerrit Cole was on his roster?
  19. And the World Series will be seeds 1 or 2 vs 5 or 6….
  20. Not sure why you ask us and then say the Sox have nothing to interest Seattle, which you have now done twice…
  21. Absolutely. Winker is an OBP machine. His BTV value of $2.1 mill is relatively small and opens the door for numerous possibilities. What does Seattle need, besides postseason wins or a pitcher who can retire Yordan Alvarez? Winker (2.1) and Flexen (0.3) for ?
  22. If that happens, someone will complain that he took a nap…
  23. Standing with 6/$150mill. Take it or leave it, Xander…
  24. Well done…
  25. It’s also the combination to my luggage!!
