  1. Giants signed Haniger 3 years $43.5 mill. Haniger was a guy I couldn’t recommend but I would have been excited to see him come to Fenway…
  2. They need to extend Devers. Abreu is normally a big bat, but took a weird trend last year. Abreu does have a 135 OPS+ the past 3 seasons. Brandon Belt has a 140 over the same stretch. Of course, Abreu has a massive advantage in games played in that timeframe. But maybe bring a DH can keep Belt in one piece for a while…
  3. If you have to add 7-9 players with what these guys are getting so far, I think a few bargains are vital…
  4. Abreu would have been a good add, but I do understand not getting into a bidding war with so many holes to fill. Kahnle? I think I’d rather find a healthier pitcher before gambling, given how many injury issues the Sox could already have…
  5. Hop on board!!
  6. Pay cut!
  7. Who did he miss out on that you wish he signed?
  8. Miller and Vodnik are both mentioned by just about every writer who published an article about potential Rule 5 draftees…
  9. You know how that ends and what the morale is, right?
  10. Extend Bello now!!
  11. That’s why I’m pushing Andrus and Gallo. The really sneaky potential bargain (meaning he must stay healthy) is Brian Anderson…
  12. I think a good pattern is to look at what MLBTR predicted and add 2 years $50mill…
  13. If the Sox have 5, 6 or 7 holes to fill, they can’t go trying to play bidding war for a DH…
  14. Correa, Bogaerts or Swanson…
  15. Kahnle was always going to be a polarizing figure on this forum. Had the Sox signed him, he’d be another injury-prone dumpster dive. But since we lost him to the Yankees, now he was not valued properly. I never thought of him as anything. He was not one of the relievers I liked this off-season (two of whom have already signed elsewhere) and I would have assumed him to be a health risk…
  16. How so? I assumed it included some anticipated MiLB deals…
  17. I do not think he meant 7-9 players all on the 26 man roster. And possibly not even all on the 40 man roster…
  18. No need to fat-shame him…
  19. How involved are the Sox? A lot of teams have been connected to Heaney for some reason…
  20. He provides quality leadership…
  21. I’ve been suggesting nothing but defensive improvements and calling them out as such. Gallo in RF is a massive improvement over the Sox post-Bradley (also pre-Bradley/post-Betts). Andrus if you are not going thing big at SS is the defensive way to go. Ok granted thoughts of Wilson Contreras behind the plate are probably a step down from Reese McGuire…
  22. Almost as if this pitcher appeared on our shores from a far off, mystical land…
  23. That’s probably why the Padres talked to Turner. Trea has already moved off shortstop to play 2b and CF. Bogaerts is reluctant. The Padres will eventually trade for Cleveland’s Ames Rosario, whose has also willingly gone to the outfield, and make him their new 2b or CF or 1b or whatever…
  24. Of course about 20 teams have made no moves above the level of minor league contract. The Yankees, Dodgers, Jays, Cardinals, Giants, Cubs, White Sox, etc. Not like the Red Sox are watching the entire league fill holes while they remain idle…
  25. Per his agent, Belllinger is seeking a one year deal…
