THe Sox only have 39 players on the 40 man roster, and a lot of them seem easily replaceable, including Johnson, Travis, Osich, Poyner, Brasier, and Weber. And so far, we haven't seen anything from Kelley, Shawaryn, Reyes, and Lakins, but there is some time with them. That's 10 out of 39 spots...

A lot of times it seems like when a player says "I want to stay with this team: he means "I want to stay with this team if they can meet my price." Porcello might be willing to take whatever the Sox offer, but he does have an agent who will tell him what he is worth and what he would be leaving on the table. And no one hires an agent so that they can take a hometown discount... -
