  1. I doubt one AAA start makes for much of a showcase...
  2. I'd actually take Ward off that list, since he's a bit of an issue right now. He's hadly even a lock for the 40 man roster in December. Groome, Potts, and Rosario are probably the headliners on the 40 man roster, with Chavis and Arauz available to anyone interested. If he does actually deal a promising prospect, a situation I agree is unlikely, I will nominate Gilberto Jimenez as my candidate..
  3. I don’t think that’sa requirements to be a GM. Jim Hendry, Chuck Lamar…
  4. Jets…
  5. Which is why you’re not a GM…
  6. Per BTV, Rizzo would cost with Gilberto Jimenez or Bryan Mata or maybe Yorke plus Rosario…
  7. Think Houck has 12 seasons in him? It’s not as common as many think. Porcello has 29.6 fWAR. Since 2000, that total ranks him 48th in MLB, tied with Brandon Webb and just behind Barry Zito. Is Houck a top 50 pitcher over a two decade stretch? If so, Houck better get going as he’s only 6 1/2 years younger than Porcello and Porcello had accumulated nearly 14 fWAR when he was Houck’s age…
  8. The thing is, we probably don’t have a single pitcher anywhere in the Sox farm system capable of having a career as a starter as good as Porcello has had…
  9. Nah. They let that hockey team use their old name with no fuss…
  10. Probably not in this bullpen happy era…
  11. But we already have three if you count Elon Musk…
  12. The main problem is that there is no way to know and no reason to believe the 2023 Red Sox or the 2024 Red Sox will be better than the 2021 Red Sox. In fact, chances are extremely good that they will be worse than the current .608 winning percentage team we currently have, and even if everything goes right, still might not be a first place team. That MLB legacy squad in Toronto might not be peaking yet…
  13. It can’t be EST. If everything was on Eastern Time, Saturday Night Live would be called Really Early Sunday Morning Live…
  14. No. Some dork scooped me. But you could go back up this thread until 11:39am (CST) today and see…
  15. I broke that story a full hour before your post.
  16. Rich Hill to the Mets
  17. The statues are not gargoyles, but apparently they are sometimes called Titans. Cleveland Titans would have been a better name IMO, but I have a feeling it made the list at some point and was rejected for some reason…
  18. Absolutely a possibility….
  19. I’ll throw this one out there. Dodgers get RHRP Ian Kennedy Rangers get 2b/3b Hudson Pott Red Sox get LHH 1b Matt Beaty Yes it works on BTV…
  20. But not Trevor Williams’ 5.68? I think there is more to why Porcello wasn’t signed than just his ERA…
  21. I think that’s an advantage. Who cares about ERA when you only pitch 50 IP?
  22. Since 2018, Matt Beaty has a better OPS and wOBA vs RHP than Rizzo. Also probably costs a lot less in a trade…
  23. I like Houck more as a high leverage reliever. If Whitlock moves to the rotation, I like Houck for his current role…
  24. More MLB teams need to adopt minor league naming strategies. We need more Trash Pandas!
