  1. You can't give any team, no matter what their record, 3 unearned runs and expect to win. Bad day all around; they happen.
  2. Bogie needs to be running here.
  3. When's the last time you saw somebody bunt into a DP?
  4. He needs a few full days off. No pinch hitting, no sub in. Let Rutledge and Hernandez handle 3rd for 3-4 games. They can't hit any worse.
  5. In the immortal words of Calvin Coolidge, you lose.
  6. Because sweeping major league teams in a 3 or 4 game series is really hard to do.
  7. Well, this and it seems like the offense has flown back to Boston already.
  8. Suzuki has always seemed to do damage to Sox pitching.
  9. This explains the procedure pretty well: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Designated_for_assignment A few comments: 1) Latos does have more than 5 years service time, so he can't be sent to the minors without his consent. 2) He would have to clear waivers for the Red Sox to pick him up as a free agent. I doubt he would clear waivers; some team lower in the standings would almost certainly take a shot at him as it would only cost them around $300K (prorated portion of the MLB minimum salary). 3) More than likely, if they want him, the Red Sox would have to trade for him in the next week, which would cost players; I'm pretty sure that draft picks cannot be traded by major league baseball teams.
  10. Post a link to that we can see it bigger than a 2x2 picture.
  11. To satisfy UN's rose-colored pipe dream.
  12. But here's the rub. That 13-16% includes all "wrong " calls; balls that are a millimeter outside the zone and ones that are a foot outside of it are considered equally wrong They aren't. Until somebody can provide some qualitative analysis to go along with the quantitative part, the discussion is silly.
  13. ding, ding, ding. Winner.
  14. Bring that one up to the catchers. My guess is after you present it to Messrs. Hanigan, Leon and Vazquez, the site would be looking for a new moderator.
  15. First strike was debatable but possible. The last one was a joke.
  16. Agree. You have to swing the bat. I've seen Bradley try to bunt; he can't so that was never an option.
  17. Be a lot more impressive had you joined JasonBay and my posts about this LAST inning.
  18. I'm in the Central Time Zone. I got 45 more minutes. Edit: maybe not any more. Damn wind
  19. This guy looks to be very tough on right handed hitters
  20. Got to be Price's last inning. There's no put away pitch right now.
  21. If they walk CV you let Price bunt and give Mookie a shot to drive him in. If they walk Mookie you have Pedroia.
  22. Personally I would have saved Shaw for later and had Rutledge lay one down to advance Young to second.
  23. You do realize Bumgarner is one of the best in the game, right?
  24. They should never have hit for Willoughby in the 8th.
