  1. Best Red Sox outfield in their history? Certainly the best that we seen since TV came along.
  2. Yankslose! Yanks lose!
  3. How about that? Mookie holds his bat steady and singgles up the middle!
  4. Every game that Travis is in,the announcers make mention of the fact he doesn't wear gloves. They never (that I have heard) made mention of the fact that Ted Williams never wore gloves either/ He "suffered" through the blisters for a couple of weeks during spring training, and was just fine after that!
  5. It will be only if Mookie doens't stop waving bat around like it's Flag Day, and start hitting. rom this point on, he would have to hit .340 in order to end the season at .300. That's a helluva drop off from the guy we saw, last year;who was the second most offensive weapon we had.
  6. I hope you're right! When I see him holding that bat a little steadier, IKNOW you'll be right!I never saw anything like. At least in a hitter as good as he is/
  7. Did Mookie wave his bat around last year like he's doing now? I don't know. Maybe he was and the pitching coaches have just caught on the fact that his timing is vulnerable. Since this man is the Red Sox only hope to reach the AL finals, it should be discussed. TW's Maxim was "wait, wait, wait; quick, quick, quick" There was no "wave, wave, wav" in there. Mookie, Pay Attention!. This team is going nowhere with Mookie Betts hittin .260!
  8. As Goes Mookie, so go the Red Sox. This has been evident for two years. My guess is that as soon as he stops waving his bat around like he's waving a flag at a Memorial Day parade, he'll start hitting again. Ted Williams, favorite maxum was "wit, wait, wait; quick, quick, quick." There was no "wave, wave, wave" in there!
  9. Re/Tues night--did anyone take into conideration the 95 degree bullpen these guys had been sweating in all night? The KC guys are more or less used to it. And for a long time I have wondered at the differences in the two pens!
  10. This not some 21 year old kid we/re talking about here. Jackie has been around for 4 years. He's 27 His current turnaround was totally unexpeced (by me, anyway). and I hope he foesn't go backwards again! That would not be tolerable.
  11. Very wrong! nd happy as hell about it! I wanted him traded, sold, sent to Portland---aaby place but CF for this contending team. DO JACKIE111 (OFFSETTING: Well I was right about Mookie. That's something!)
  12. Been nice to see Ramurez sacrifice, Nope, too big a star!
  13. Wharn are the Sox announcers going to stop rationalizing about Porcello? Can't remember a pitcher going from that good, to this bad. In one year.
  14. Eck (on the sbject of 'needing another bat': "We need a third baseman with a bat." Finally someone said it.
  15. You want to compare his BA in June 1917 to his BA in 1915? That makes no sense whatsoever. The fact is, when Mookie is hitting, the Sox are winning. When he is not hitting the Sox are losing. I repeat, "As Mookie Goes, So Go the Red Sox."
  16. As Betts goes, so go the Red Sox. Been true for 2 years/ 228 AB, hitting .259? Not good news.
  17. Well, that's enough of that
  18. Huge game coming Fri. vs Detroit. Rick P. will be 3-8 after this game, and has pitched like it. Meanwhile Brian Johnson pitched the best game of the year (almost be anyone). Was it a fluke? Is this fellow ready to take a regular spot? THIS GAME FRIDAY MAY BE THE MOST TELLING GAME OF THE YEAR! gO, bRIAN, go!
  19. what happened to the running game? 4 DP's? In 4 innings? Them when he deices to run, he runs Moreland!
  20. When will someone start a thread on Brian Johnson?
  21. You're right; this is the procedure for most young guys no matter how spectacular they looked. But this is the first time I can recall seeing a guy come up who looked more likeGreg Maddox than Greg Maddoz. Nothing but strikes, corners and changes of speed. Only question? It was against a very lousy team. Still that team does have some pretty good hitters.
  22. I just read hat he being optioned back to AAA!!!! -Best pitched game of the year, and this is his reward?
  23. Run, Sox, Run!!! Os this the beginning of an awakening? A's announcers marveling at the 'Running Sox' My only comment:: about time!!!
  24. The Rays have caught up (to us)m and the Jays aren't far behind. I wonder what John Henry is thinking. (Maybe time get in theeee "flipping" business?)
