  1. On m 0-100 scale, Kelly has taken a nose dive about 70 to a5 and now to -5 I can't see him on the playoff roseter.
  2. Last night, before Brock Holt came to the plate the scoreboard at the bottom of the screen showed the score as Toronto 2 and Rd Sox 1. Before the hitter drew a walk, the board suddenly changed to show RS 3-run inning! In other words, I guessed that the guy got on and the next hitter cleared the bases! Exactly what happened. Any other way of posting a 3 run inning was almost impossible. This is not the first time this has happened, I watch every game I can, andsimilar goof ups have happened at least 3 or 4 times. Of course, the computer feed does not agree with the real thing, but I can't see why that would happen. (Yep, i sneak a peek once in a while!)
  3. Any more questions as to the best manager the Red Sox have EVER had?
  4. It;s easy to point out thos who have exceeded expectations this year (as of Sept 10) but not not so much fun pointing out those few who have not met expectations. My two who "qualify" for thie category are Vasquez and Devers. Maybe I had set my expectations too jigh? '
  5. Prediction: Bobby Poynter will prove to be the lefty we have lacked all uear in the bullpen. I have not checked his minor league numbers, but 1 run over 7 or 8 innings with a K per inning. looks good so far. I like his poise on the mound
  6. When does enough become enough? Why is this guy "pitching" and Wright is siting on his ass someway?
  7. I think it was "Spahn and Sain and pray for rain" Oops; come to think of it, it was simply, "Spahn, Sain, and pray for rain." (no 'and' in there. Bill Cunningham died a long time ago, so we can't verify it!
  8. Someone please tell Mookie, he gave up about 10 times what he would have gained.
  9. Gotta feeling this Brasier guy will be finishing games for us before the season ends, Love the way he works!
  10. Any ideas why this pitching staff is falling apart? Having one or two starters and one or two re;ievers is not going to win playoff series'/
  11. We have some guys in that bullpen who change speeds by going from95 to 99 then back to 97
  12. Not to change the subject, but anybody notice that we have a bullpen with more throwers than pitchers?
  13. Well, what doe you know! Wright was down to pitch a simulated game on the 24th. What was the result?Am I the pnly one on this board who gives a s***?
  14. I thought this thread concernef Steven Wright. How is he? Where the hell is he? Is he done for the season> For good? He could be a keyy to this pitching staff. Comparing our bullpen the the Rays's we come in last. A pitche like Wright is the perfect change of pace. And he doesn't have to be pulled after an inninh! (when he's "right"
  15. I don/t know who dreamed up this "5 or 6 innings and you're gone" approach.ut it os sure wprking fpr the Rays. Gotta give them credit. Sat. the guy went 5, and each of the 4 relievers pitched a hitles inning! Where the hell did they get that bullpen?
  16. The season's not going all that well, Bu, thank God it;s the last We will see of Blake Snell Maybe the for best AL pitcher awards.
  17. The first true throw-away game of the season. Please let it be the last!
  18. My macro degeneration makes it almost impossible for me toall the comments. I only get the gist of them anyway. So if my thoughts have already been kicked around, well, it can't be helped. Re/Betts, isn't this a bit of de Je Vu from last year/ He certainly tight as a drum, and back to watching strike sail on by. His swing is mor uppercut than it ever was.and his off balance swipes come more frequently than they did, even last year. Make contack, Mookie. f*** the left field wall. Just make contact.
  19. I totall agree, and I wonder how many people pay attention to it anymore@
  20. Best post of the year! I go for the Kid whp plays LF like he owns it,hits .300 with power, andsteals bases No, he is not in the "un-sung" category, but the strides have been huge!
  21. It;s hard to find fevency when talking avout 196 and 2018, but it soed exist to some degeree, My fatger me to more Braves games than Red Sox, but we always managed to get to Fenway on days (many Sundays!!!) tha Feller or Grove pitched. After Grove;s injury (he went 8-8) season Philadelphia cmae n andGabby Hayes (I think) his former catcher (for certain) was quoted that Grove wa no longer Grove and that he'd lost his fastball The pepers came out with Grove replying by throwing exactly 12 fast balls the entire game. They were all to Gabby who fanned 4 times.. I SEEM TO RECALL THAT LEFTY PITCHED MOST OF HIS GAMES THAT PARTICULAR YEAR ON SUNDAYS (When every one else was resting!) Doesn't anyone else remember (or heard about) the Boston "life of lefty Grave?) It's a little spooky having these memories at age 93! Maybe I dreamed it!!!???
  22. No talking about 3 bad games!
  23. It is getting worse. We have throwers, but not enough pitchers. I don't see anything about Wright's condition. Sale may be a problem for the rest of the season.Porcello amd Price are also "pitvhers" The rest are throwers, and the other teams are catching on.
  24. Dewey, how much faith do you have in Eovaldi? Put another way, how much do you think Cora has in him? (I have to remember that Cora has been right his year a lot more times than I have!
  25. Is Wright ever coming back? Perfect partner for Sale's 5 innings. Then Wright goes 3 and then a closer. Kimbre;; is fading, too; anybody notice?
