  1. It's no wonder some players stay away from the Boston "fan" base. One bad game or two and our player sucks. Not just on the field, either. Go after the kids core self. This site is bringning me down during a season that looks to be something really special.
  2. No wonder I used to stay away from game threads.
  3. He's my favorite current Sox player. Tough night.
  4. The year (2015) Miller closed the most his rate was 95%. The other years were too small in sample numbers to be definitive. I'd be thrilled to have Miller as my closer, especially since he can give me 2 innings quite often.
  5. As long as we're not Hosmers.
  6. I wanted to trade Holt the second he got named to the all star game? How 'bout chew?
  7. Sorry, I remembered one guy was on. My bad.
  8. Even I would not have sent Holt down. (Note: I believe in hot streaks.)
  9. True. I think I read more into his post than what was intended.
  10. Are you honestly saying nobody would have criticized Core if we lost the lead with an HR?
  11. Last year was the right time.
  12. I totally agree, but had it not worked out, Cora would still keep getting bashed and bashed. I, for one, am thrilled we have Cora as our new manager.
  13. I agree, but.... Arguing and debating is what most forums are about. If we all just sat here and agreed with each other on everything and sang Kumiyah together about how great our beloved team is, eventually, we might not have any posters left.
  14. Some great posts here, recently!
  15. ...and maybe 2-3 bad meltdowns by the pen as well. We have a nice staff to begin with, but Leon & Vax seem to get the most out of them. Last year, I felt our pen was our weakest (not weak) area. They ended up being the unsung heroes.
  16. I'm not even close to wanting Swihart to replace either of our catchers. Our staff is doing very well, and I feel that has a lot to do with who we've had behind the plate the last couple years.
  17. Kinda like Miller Beer.
  18. I've never been a big beer fan, but I had my share in my college days. BTW, I used to be able to see the big Miller High Life sign from my front yard. https://goo.gl/images/p9PvZr
  19. I'm still hopeful Carson Smith gets his act together, but I'm not sure how much longer we can give him him high leverage chances. Maybe by year's end, we'll have Smith & Thornburg firing on all cylinders and guys like Kelly, Barnes & Hembree are our 6-7th inning guys.
  20. If Beni comes alive, this team will be very hard to beat going forward.
  21. I lived in Milwaukee during the Bart Starr & Lew Alcindor eras. Cut me some slack.
  22. It's actually proportionally a bigger sample size than some of these defensive ones. Stop!
  23. That was the caveat about the small sample size for UZR/150. Would Loen starting 15 for 45 and Betts 10 for 45 been a better hitting example?
