  1. Anthony was not crowding the OF until after the Devers trade and Campbell demotion, We could have started the season with Campbell at 2B, Devers at 1B, Casas at DH and the OF, as is. The Rafaela to 2B option was available after the demotion of KC, and KC could have been demoted earlier, if they wanted to make this move in May. True, if they made the move the second we traded for Bregman, then Rafaela at 2B would have meant KC is not on the opening day roster.
  2. Tolle will not be blocked. We have to count on a starter to be on the IL, at all times. This year we had 2 never start a game: Crawford & Sandoval. We had one start 9 games and is not out until 2027 (Houck.) We had Dobbins (11 GS) and Fitts (10 GS) miss the end of the season after less than 2/3 available starts. We also has a minor leaguer (Perales) out all year. That being said, I'd be fine with Ryan and either Gio or Keller.
  3. So, you'd trade Rafaela or play him at 2B? Tade Antony or have an OF'er ride the bench every game?
  4. They had some limited options: Rafaela to 2B FT. Trade and OF'er in June. Just tell Devers to shut up and play 1B like you will in SF, if we trade you.
  5. They should have done what I suggested: moved Devers to 1B and Casas to DH, the second we traded for Bregman. We could have kept Devers pouting sessions to one. We could have moved the fragile and worst defensive1Bman in MLB to DH. Win-Win. Maybe Devers is still here and at 30 HRs by now.
  6. Talk about long waits for a pitcher. Luis Garcia- the other one- started for HOU the other night after about 2.5 years out. He did pretty well. Javier is back. Lance McCullers is back. Let's see if they get a boost. What happened to the big boost SEA was supposed to get after "winning the trade deadline."
  7. To me, it goes beyond the record. He's made over 10 good to great moves and maybe 3-4 bad ones. (Not counting the minors choices.) I also like the new direction on the farm, the extensions and the future outlook.
  8. This "stiff" is doing pretty damn good, in just 2 season.
  9. I am pretty sure we trade Abreu or Duran plus some others for a solid SP'er. I can see the plusses and minuses with both. Abreu plays an excellent RF at Fenway and has power this team lacks. Duran has speed and excitement, but also one less year of control. I doubt we trade Rafaela, but we would still have a very nice OF.
  10. I'd take Gio over Keller, but quite frankly, I'd like to see this as our opening day rotation: Crochet Ryan Bello Giolito Keller The rest can be depth or work from the pen, where we need depth.
  11. Good point. We haven't really been burned by RHB vs our lefty pen guys.
  12. Do you think we protect Uberstine? How about Mullins?
  13. I like our list more than soxprospects.com.
  14. I guess people expect perfection from a human. It's no wonder they are always let down.
  15. B-R shows .779 on the team tab as DH.
  16. Better on paper, but who knows what might have happened had he stayed.
  17. Good point. (I think SEA or HOU will be the third best Div winner.)
  18. He's on pace for 26 in 650, so that's not far off. I expected a better 2B pace of about 40 per 650.
  19. Refsnyder has too.
  20. Very encouraging. His glove alone will likely get him to the bigs as a SS, but if he can hit over .700, he'll be a keeper.
  21. Not sure they foresaw this, but... Our LHPs vs RHBs OPS Against: .282 Matz .360 Chapman .589 Bernardino .592 Murphy (Wilson .843 is the outlier.)
