  1. That foul pole dinger was shocking. The inside the park Duran homer was awesome, the game before. What's in store for tonight?
  2. I'm kinda surprised by the .727 DH OPS, since Devers left. That's better than I would have guessed. Remember when the Sox FO said this trade made us better? We all laughed and compared it to the "full throttle" comment. Little did we know. Yes, the Anthony promotion was a big spark. Had Mayer and just one of our SP'ers not gotten hurt, maybe we'd have the best record in the AL or be leading the ALE, by now. (HOU could say the same.)
  3. I agree and love the apparent attitude adjustment made over the winter and with the Devers trade. I feel the same about my "love of the game." It was getting hard watching so many of our best players move on. The whole "wait till next year" feeling gets tiring, as most of us experienced for decades before 2004. Seeing us lock up our best players and so many young player shining, this year is like a reboot.
  4. We are 2.5 down, not 3.0. It would be nice to miss the WC round of the playoffs, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. We need to take care of our own business and play NYY and TOR, again.
  5. We're grasping at straws and hoping we pick the right one. Tolle looked real good, last start, but he's no sure bet, either.
  6. I think that .795 OPS is what scared HOU from extending/re-signing him. I'm confident he can beat those number, this year and next, but maybe .790 is what we can expect, if we extend him longer.
  7. Hicks needs the IL, since he is out of options. (Il him, when Guerrero is ready, of call up Harrison for the WED start.) Yoshida can be demoted and start playing everyday v L and R with Woo. (Demote him & call up Garcia or Campbell to DH.)
  8. Games today: CLE at BOS NYY at HOU SEA at TBR TEX at AZ LAA at KCR NYM at DET LAD at PIT (PHI at MIL starts tomorrow.)
  9. The AL has now grabbed 5 of the top 9 records in MLB, although 4 of them are in the 5-9 slots. 85-54 MIL 80-58 PHI 80-59 DET 79-59 CHC & TOR 78-59 LAD 76-61 NYY 77-62 BOS #8 76-62 HOU & SDP 74-64 NYM 73-65 SEA_________ 72-67 TEX 70-67 KCR 70-68 CIN .500 SFG & CLE

  11. This what happens when you have 8 pitchers on the IL: Houck, Crawford, Sandoval, Dobbins, Fitts, Criswell, Hendriks & Guerrero. It's hard to plan 9-10 deep and have something useful. Also, between Kelly, Campbell, Murphy and Moran, I kinda expected in March, that one might be decent.
  12. I doubt in 2025.
  13. It was Kelly vs Harrison. It's not like we have a Chapman on the farm. It was a 3rd catcher or a 7th OF'er.
  14. The last major deal was Crochet, and that is the type of deal I'd like to see one more of- not the sell-off Betts deal, not the sell-off Sale deal, although that one does not look as bas as before with the money saved used for Gio, who is now doing very well. I think we can trade Abreu, Campbell and 2 from Clarke, Early, Sandlin & Mullins and get a stud pitcher plus another piece.
  15. MN probably prefers the longer team control of Abreu over Duran, anyway.
  16. He certainly seems to justify our giddiness. If Mayer or Campbell could come around, and some of these pitchers on the 60 can regain past form, we could be in great shape, next year and onwards.
  17. What a difference two days make. After those two losses to PIT, the air was sucked out of the room. That was after going 7-1 on a tough road trip.
  18. To me, in order to be a legitimate top contender, we need 2 solid SP'ers (Gio can be one of them) and a big bat (1B, DH or 2B seem like the most logical positions.) This assumes Bregman returns. Gio, Ryan & Alonso is the dream. The reality might be Gio, Keller and a Lowe return.
  19. 5 men in teh first 2 innings, a DP ended a runner in the 3rd, then 2 more in the 4th. A DP with bases loaded, ended the 5th, so one man on base was erased and didn't count. 9 LOB in the first 5 innings!
  20. I'm sending Yoshida to AAA to play FT. He'd still be an option, of Garcia fizzles out. Romy is another option who is not fixxling out, even vs RHPs.
