  1. I've always wanted Leon over Swihart at catcher, and wanted Swihart to be given chances at other positions, but he never showed much hope. I'm glad we brought Leon back up, but I truly hope Swihart does well in AZ. People may say, "I told you so" to me, but my guess is he will never make it as a catcher in AZ, and even if he does well as a non catcher, I'll be happy for him. If he makes it as a catcher, I will be surprised and readily admit I was wrong. It won't upset me.
  2. He starts every year off very well. It would be nice, if he could do something like this all year. (He did show some life in the playoffs, so it's hard to be too critical.
  3. Ockimey's OPS is now up to.932. He's always had raw skills. It would be nice if he showed big growth this year, even if he just earns some trade stock. Mejia is doing his best to show he'll never make the big club. He had his 3rd blown save and got his 3rd loss while letting up 2 ER in .2 IP. Portland scored 4 in the top of the 12th and found a way to lose 8-7. Feltman pitched 2 scoreless innings to bring his ERA down to 8.25. Dalbec had 4 of the team's 6 hits, including 3 dingers a 2B and a BB. Wow! 15 TB's in one game. I'm wondering when he gets the call to AAA.
  4. That and the fact that we have no other options. Even the idea of moving Chavis to the OF may lose some steam as he slumps.
  5. Yes, I know, but you missed my point.
  6. While the Rockets did blow it, the refs were horrible down the stretch. The out of bounds off the lef of a Warrior and Capella getting hit on the head are just 2 obvious ones. No technicals on DG, but they are quick to call 'em on the Rockets.
  7. I'm going to Friday and Saturday's games. Yipee!
  8. Nice to see Porcello settle down. JBJ even got 2 rbis! Leon now has an OPS about what Swihart's was! LOL!
  9. Love the crooked number innings we've been getting. Keep it going!
  10. No need to "hope," except for no injuries. This is... Chris Freakin' Sale we're talking about!
  11. I'm a big DHern fan, but he needs to lower hid BB rate, or he'll be the next Henry Owens.
  12. One could say the same about the Yankees winning with all their subs playing so much.
  13. Very short memories.
  14. Certainly, the Rockets did not take advantage of the situation, and I'm not a Rockets fan, but I thought tehre were about 12 really bad calls against the Rockets with about half in the final quarter, and maybe 2 bad ones against GS. I still think the fix is in. People want to watch the Warriors, so the league makes sure they win. This happens too often for it to just be luck.
  15. Okay, best to middle might make 35-50 more plays over a year. Yes, I said TC's based on if both compared SSs had the exact same amount and type of hits to them. (hypothetical) If you disagree, how many more plays to you think the best SS makes vs the middle one?
  16. The NBA is one big fix. I swore I'd never watch it again after last year's GS-Houston fiasco. My Bucks have the best record, so I broke my promise. Refs currently handing the game to the Warriors...again.
  17. Other than being out with injuries, he's been pretty good for quite a while.
  18. For all you small sample sizers... Since May 5th: 0-15 Chavis (3BB) .167 OBP 2-16 JBJ (4BB) .300 OBP
  19. Betts is an elite athlete. JD looks like a deer in the headlights out in the OF. Plus, Fenway's RF is spacious. There are no nooks and crannies to mess you up or a big wall to crash into. We need JD 100% healthy. It's not a clear choice, and I'm not super scared of an injury, but I think the injury risk tips the balance slightly in Chavis in the OF's favor. JD already will play the OF enough due to games in NL parks.
  20. Time for some payback for what they did to us.
  21. JD is probably a slightly better OF defensively, but risking an injury tips the balance, for me.
  22. I was really hoping your Yanks would sign one of these bozos.
  23. I'd rather have Chavis in LF, Beni in CF and Betts staying put in RF. Just tell Chavis he will be DFA'd if he collides with the wall.
  24. I'm not sure anyone knows. I'm ready to give up hope and think this should probably be his last chance. I certainly don't want Chavis benched, so Pedey can play, but Pedey might only play no more than 50-60% of the time, so finding other ways to keep Chavis in the line-up should be possible. If Pedey plays 3 out of 7 games at 2B, Chavis can play 4 at 2B and 2-3 at 3B, 1B, DH or OF.
