  1. Houck is out until 2027- his last arb year. Still- pretty awesome depth, when you consider we lost Priester and Buehler and likely Gio. Also, Whitlock and Wink are permanent pen arms, now. Add Perales to the list. (Mullins will probably start 2026 in the WOO pen.)
  2. I may be going out on a limb, but Narvaez is a keeper. Wong's D has improved, but he needs to hit over .680-.700 to be barely a plus.
  3. Bregman did not give us the RH's power bat we needed, for sure, but I'm sure glad we did not bring back Mr. IL himself, T.O.... 2025 O'Neill: .205 8 24 (.705 OPS in 180 PAs) Breggie: .272 17 59 (.820 OPS in 459 PAs) $40M is a lot. The one year aspect made it okay, and we would not be where we are today w/o Bregman.
  4. It's a bit uncommon that two vets having a really good season, in their prime, both slump pretty badly at the same time. The weirdest part of it is how epic the Breggie slumps is: .438 OPS for Bregman since AUG 23 (.516 in last 30 days) Gio's "slump" is more about the uptick in BBs: 18 BB in 33.2 IP in the last 30 days. (3.68 FIP) 34 BB in 106.2 IP beforehand, but a 4.33 FIP
  5. Good to know on the tie breaker. CLE has 4 more games vs DET and are 4 GB in the loss column. After today's game at DET, they play 4 at MIN, day off and then a tough 6 game homestand vs DET & TEX. DET does not have it any easier: today v CLE, 3 v ATL, day off then 3 at CLE & 3 at BOS.
  6. I'd like them both back, too, but I'm not as sure as I was a month ago. I'd rather have Ryan than Gio. Keller might be about equal. FA pitchers tend to be grossly overpaid and for 2-3 years too long.
  7. Gio's option was met, tonight: 2026:$14M club option if Giolito exercises 2025 option (2026 becomes $19M mutual option with $1.5M buyout if Giolito has 140 innings in 2025 – MET)
  8. Weird how a month ago, it looked like everyone was hoping and praying we'd find a way to bring Gio and Breggie back, next year. Now, it's kinda... meh?
  9. Great to see Duran heat up. Breggie hit the ball hard a couple times. Ref is da man! Story keeps coming through. How about Lowe on base 4 times! Props to Yoshida for shutting me the F*** UP! This pen has been shockingly amazing, and dare I say it, Cora has done a masterful job getting many of these guys to do well in teh roles he puts them in. 7 RP'ers used, tonight! 5.2 IP 5 hits (2 allowed by Chapman!) 1BB after Gio walked 5! And of course the big goose egg on runs allowed to a damn good hitting team! Now, don't ease off the throttle. Gotta take the day game, tomorrow!
  10. Good to see SEA lose. DET is taking a real nosedive. CLE beat 'em. As of now, we are tied w SEA and HOU, but HOU is beating TEX. NYY is up 1.5 on us and is about to win. CLE is -2.5 and have won 9 of 10!
  11. I should listen to myself and stay away from the game thread cesspool.
  12. You wanna deny that if Gio lets up the lead you won't pivot back and say "I was right!"
  13. Nope, this can't be true. The resident expert of flops said earlier.. Giolito isn’t looking good
  14. I'm staying on the site for Sox fans and a few malcontents and pretenders.
  15. They probably have a site you can join as a Guardian fan. Adios.
  16. Not because he's milking an injury. It's because others have talked me out of trading Duran.
  17. If you add all the singles, doubles and even homers he's robbed to his offense, he's have an OPS over .800, for sure- maybe even .850 to .900.
  18. I've said all along, "Give Yoshida as long a leash as he needs!" (Or something like that!)
  19. Wow. The guy is about to win a GG and was our HR leader before the injury.
  20. Bang the Drum Slowly was a great movie. I don't want the Sox to become terminally Ill. I want them singing "'Cause there's a brand new game that I wanna play."
  21. If you guys want offense and screw the defense, then let Breggie walk, trade Rafaela and others for Marte, then sign Suarez for 3B and Alonso for 1B. 1. Anthony LF 2. Marte 2B 3. Suarez 3B 4. Alonso 1B 5. Story SS 6. Duran CF 7. Abreu RF 8. Casas/Romy DH 9. Narvaez C
  22. So, Brez should hire Cora to be his own boss? Isn't the GM usually the guy doing the talking?
