Look at the PAs per sample and extrapolate... 2019 .883 in 537 PAs man on 2nd only .856 in 385 PAs man on 1 + 2 .739 in 182 PAs 2 + 3 .734 in 174 PAs bases loaded 2018 .853 in 579 2nd .783 in 402 1+2 1.030 in 176 .963 in 196 bases loaded Man on 2nd only and 1st & 2nd combine for over 900 PAs each season Man on 2 & 3 or loaded is only 350-375.

I don't think anyone breaks down home vs away into other splits like these wanted. They do have overall (H+A) numbers with a man on 2B: OPS 2019 .883 2nd only .856 1st & 2nd .739 2nd and 3rd .734 1st, 2nd & 3rd 2018 .853 2nd .783 1+2 1.030 2+3 .962 1,2,3 2017 .772 2nd .712 1+2 1.100 2+3 .686 1,2,3 Not that this helps or hurts proving anything.

1. No, you don't have to conclude he cheated here. You can fire him for just being a cheater- as a person. 2. True, but this would be a huge distraction, which actually might help distract from how much we'll suck. 3. I could care less right now about who manages in 2020. It won't be Cora. It shouldn't be in 2021. Bucky is not the only choice. I'd even take you over him.

Reason 1: Do we want a cheater as out leader? Reason 2: Do we want the media side show that would follow Cora and the Sox for months and months? Reason 3: He was going to suspended for a full year. One may not think these are reason enough, but they do "make sense."

Buying a house in Texas means you pay an 8.5% sales tax. (It's what we have instead of income tax.) I guess one can work here but live elsewhere.

Here is a plan I am nearly certain will not happen, but it is an extreme version of what I might think would help us get better by 2021 and/or beyond (at the expense of 2020). The trade simulator accepted all of these trades. Betts & Eovaldi to LAD for Pollock, Gonsolin, Stripling & Cartaya Price & Walden to SDP for Myers & Margot JBJ (+$1M) & Workman for Dominic Smith & Marisnik JD (+$8M) to TOR for Rowdy Tellez Barnes & Hembree to ATL for Kyle Wright That leaves us with... SP: Sale, ERod, Perez, Gonsolin, Stripling, Wright plus what we have left over RP: DHern, Taylor, Brasier, Lakins, Velazquez, Weber, Brewer plus leftovers C: Vaz & Plawecki, Cartaya 1B: D Smith/Myers/Tellez 2B: Peraza/ Chavis 3B: Devers, Dalbec/Chavis SS: Bogey, Lin, Chatham LF: Beni/Myers CF: Pollock RF: Margot DH: Myers/Dalbec/Chavis Our budget would be tens of millions below the lux tax, and we'd be poised to go after Betts and others next winter.

I'm pretty sure that's true, but sometimes a player will take a slightly lower deal to play where he wants, or the taxes are lower... I was speaking about his wishes to play for the Sox or not. I can't imagine us offering him more than anyone else (or the same) and him leaving, but who knows after all this crap.

I doubt the QO matters much, but it can't hurt to not have it. I'm not sure what Betts wants. Ideally, I hope he wants to stay in Boston and won't mind, if we trade him then pay him largely to come back.

I'd say the odds are better than 50-50 Betts is traded by August 1st.

What roster, 2020? Yes, we might contend. I may think it's a longer shot than other here, but many AL teams improved- some by a lot, while we got worse (on paper). I get the business end of the issue. It's all about making money, and trading Betts will hurt sales and viewership. I'm only giving my opinion on what I'd like to see, which is for us to get back to the top as quickly as possible. Pretending to be contenders in 2020 is only going to worsen and lengthen the trip back to the top.
